Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉

It’s the only definition for the fandom that makes sense… insomnia means “ without sleep” . I’ve seen countless other “definitions” proposed but none of them make linguistic sense except this one.
Loved the reaction! You're in for a crazy ride with Dreamcatcher. All of their title tracks have rock/metal influences and many of their bsides do as well. But they also have a wide variety of genres in their discography ranging from R&B, EDM, Reggae, Pop, Ballads, and much more. The anime vibes persist throughout a lot of their songs, and they even have an OST called Eclipse for the anime King's Raid. I would recommend starting at the beginning with their Debut, Chase Me, which is the beginning of the Nightmare Series, of which, You & I is part 4 of 6.

From my experience with this group their genre is rokish pop and ballad so their music is always on top!
Title tracks always have a rock element and the b-sides come in literally every genre!
DREAMCATCHER YOU & I MEANING:
The events of the You & I music video is YH’s nightmare. She was possessed (in my mind) when she killed the spider but this could have been a weak curse (as the spider had to be killed before the full curse got to the other members), so the spider’s hold onto YH was weak. So when she is transferred to the nightmare, the curse is lifted and she follows the rules set by the other members (who were strongly possessed). For example, she follows SY and becomes a photographer (as she didn’t know how to get out). There is also a change in leadership, as SY was also the leader. This could have occurred during the forest trip in Fly High.
Once each member was possessed, they get transferred to the nightmare (an alternate reality) alongside SY. We don’t see much of the others except for DM, JIU, SY and YH. HD is bound, GY interacts with her reflection, SUA is around. Not sure why some members are shown in a limited way and why they are where they are.For DM, her inexperienced magic powers cause her to become stuck in the dome. As her magic matures, she magicked up a stick and broke the glass.While taking a picture, YH encounters a lady, who turns out to be the spider. Proof that YH had her curse lifted is that she became scared of the presence of the spider. She is knocked out. She then wakes up again with the evil inside her.
JIU at the start is running through the halls. I assumed she had some ‘good’ within her because as she ran around, she looked genuinely concerned and scared. She stops at a spinning top, clearly not want to stop it spinning. Why she stopped? Nobody knows but it seems like she does - as if stopping the top will cause something bad to happen. One of the scenes showing an evil spirit almost getting to her, but we don’t see the aftermath of that close encounter.It seems like JIU is helping YH by doing some ritual that allows YH the chance to run to a portal that would get her out of the nightmare. That is what we are made to think. But in reality, the dark spirit got to JIU (as I said, we didn’t see the aftermath) and caused her to become fully evil. She baits YH into thinking this plan might work and that she can escape. My question is why would JIU help YH become free while the rest of the members are standing around them and not doing anything? SY is the ring-leader (she is the one in charge of the photos), so why doesn’t she stop them? Because JIU is evil and is tempting YH. Everyone else knows about the plan, everyone besides YH.
The evil spirit is lifted (temporarily) allowing YH to run towards the now closing portal (I think this is linked to the top. If JIU stopped the top, she would have closed the portal and therefore she could not convince YH that this will work).The leader consistently changes, with JIU becoming the leader after she becomes evil. Hence, why nobody stopped her.
YH runs towards the portal but it closes. And at the same time, the evil returns, latching onto her. As a result, she passes out and the members surround her once again, waking her up.
You and I is not an OST. It's part of the Nightmare Series. They're 7 songs and MVs following a central occult storyline. Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What, Piri, and their Japanese release Breaking Out. The amazing thing with Dreamcatcher though is what comes after this Series, with their 2020-2021 Dystopia Trilogy (Scream, Boca, Odd Eye), a newer storyline denouncing the evils of our modern online society. And their latest releases BEcause (a horror song, homage to Jordan Peele's Us) and Maison (part of the new Apocalypse storyline), which are some of their best selling and streamed songs.
Prepare to witness music in a different way with Dreamcatcher. They mix Pop with Rock, Hip Hop, Nu Metal, Mumbathon, and EDM. Their b-sides have songs from every genre imaginable (Funk, R&B, Heavy Metal, J-Rock, Pop, EDM) and some of them are just as incredible as the title songs. Actually, there are no bad Dreamcatcher songs.
Oh did I mention they're vocal queens and the best dancers and performers? And yet, all this, is nothing comparing to them being themselves behind the scenes. They're a bunch of likable, lovable, funny dorks who respect and love each other, who're a delight watching interact and appear on TV shows. Dreamcatcher have made endless material and they're probably some of the best all around entertainers I've seen.

I clicked so fast holy cow, dude you have no idea what you got yourself into (there are actually a lot of Amazing Girl Groups/Soloists you need to check out more for an example like Red Velvet, Twice, (G) I-DLE, Loona, GFriend, Momoland, Aespa, PIXY, Purple Kiss, Momoland, Everglow, Sistar, ITZY, KHAN, Oh My Girl, EXID, IZ*ONE, Sunmi, IU, Taeyeon, Chungha, and more. I also can't wait for you to react to more Blackpink and Mamamoo in the future as well!) But dude Dreamcatcher are INSANE (and yes their fandom name are Insomnias) they are all pretty much Aces they can Sing, Rap, Dance, and they are all Visuals and this song is such an Amazing song I love it so much (they also have lore as well and a lot of it!) You should definitely check out a guide to them I recommend the most recent one the 2021/2022 version or the 2020 version because they are really good, just you wait until you hear more from them literally every song from them is a bop and no skips my personal favorite is Deja Vu it's just such a Masterpiece I recommend that and the Dystopia series it goes Scream, BOCA, then Odd Eye you'll LOVE them! *JiU* (Leader, Lead Vocalist, Lead Dancer, and Visual): She was the one who was running in the hallway she also had that sand or soil (don't know what it was that she had in her hand) then she spilled it and I'm guessing a soul came out, sorry not fully sure how to explain it. She is known to be the Mom of the Group but she is also bright sunshine and is kind of a kid as well she also tells Dad jokes (which I love) she is just our sweet Leader!
*SuA* (Main Dancer, Vocalist, and Lead Rapper): She was the one with the white braids on the side of her head, she is also the one behind the camera. She is known to be one of the Main crackheads (they all are crackheads) she is also VERY loud and her laugh is AMAZING you'll see what I mean when you get into them more, she is also VERY lethal at times, and not to mention she choreographed a lot of their dances!
*Siyeon* (Main Vocalist): She was the one behind the desk with the white shirt and red jacket. She is known to be an INSANE vocalist one of the best in the 3rd Generation she is AMAZING, she is also known to be one if not the most flirty of the Group she always flirts with her Members especially SuA (they are called SuaYeon), she is also known to have AMAZING stage presence and her Visuals are Lethal!
*Handong* (Vocalist): She is not hard to miss at all she is the one with the brown to blonde to pink/red hair. She is actually the most slept on in the Group and the most underrated, her Vocals are just WOW they are so full and deep just GORGEOUS (Just you wait when you hear "Holding This Pain") she also is such an Amazing dancer and even though she normally never Raps she can spit if she wanted to, she is also a cutie pie but a SAVAGE!
*Yoohyeon* (Lead Vocalist): She is also not hard to find she's I'm pretty sure the Main character and has the Silver hair. She is known to be the Puppy of the Group she is ADORABLE and very clumsy pretty much every trait of a puppy and we LOVE it, she is also the Member who can speak English the best she is also Multilangual she speaks many languages, she is also a VERY talented singer and can be a Main Vocalist in any other Group!
*Dami* (Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, and Vocalist): She again is not hard to find she is the Rapper who had the "stick" and was in the glass thing. She actually reminds me of Moonbyul because of her DEEP voice and she is an INSANE Rapper definitely one of the best but if you heard her Vocals you would be stunned because her Vocals sound SO different compared to her Rapping Voice, she is also known to be the most "calm" of the Group and is the brain!
*Gahyeon* (Lead Rapper, Vocalist, and Maknae): She sadly was not in there as much so probably more difficult to find, during the dancing she is the one with the ponytail. She is our Baby of the Group or more like Boss Baby she is one of the cutest things ever but is also SCARY sometimes and also very Lethal, she is also Loud Member #2 her and SuA are insanely loud but sometimes she is one of the quietest because she's just doing her thing!
I hope that helped you out a little bit more but again you should check out a Guide to them because there is MUCH more (sorry for the long comment), they are our Amazing, relatable, chaotic, hilarious dorks they are also known as Gaycatcher (for many reasons, you'll see what I mean later on)! YEEEEEEEEEES OMFG, I'm so happy this was your first Dreamcatcher song. This was probably the song that got my soul sold to them completely back when it came out. xD I mean, don't get me wrong, Catch Me and Good Night were good ass songs and I loved both of those so much and I don't remember if Fly High was a comeback after You and I or before xD but I know I didn't like Fly High as much. I like the song, it's just not a song I would continuously play so much. It's a type of song that I would probably skip listening to. But when they came back with You and I, I was OBSESSED with the song. I listened to it an unhealthy amount of times and I even learned Yoohyeon's part of the dance to their dance practice. xD yeah...that's how much I was in to it. xD They've come such a long way since then.

I’ve heard a couple songs.. scream and oddeye and liked them a lot… and I heard a few others and they all kinda have the same vibe to me… like this one fits in the other ones I’ve heard as well. Some K-pop groups are like based on lore and just run with that for concepts and stuff… they’re definitely super theatrical… I liked this one but not as much as all the others I heard… but they sound similar vibes from what I heard but I have not heard anywhere close to all of them
Because like almost all of the songs, are mainly made by the music producers LEEZ and Ollounder.
Seriously no joke, they are something, these composers do know their thing, even classical musicians love their stuffs!
