8 pump fire, Green Farm, Theale Road, Burghfield, Berkshire - 25/7/2022

On scene footage at an 8 pump farm fire in Burghfield nr Reading, Berkshire. Several pumps and special appliances can be seen arriving and operating at the scene including pumps from Theale, Bracknell, Wokingham, Mortimer, Wokingham Road and Newbury plus the Zetros Water Carrier from Bracknell, Operational Support Unit from Whitley Wood, Multi Role Vehicle from Maidenhead, Water Carrier from Wheatley (Oxfordshire) and the High Volume Pumping Unit from Bracknell

Why is the hydrant not set in to the pump to boost it down to the fire scene?

Already set in to a fireground pump nearer the fire.

@@jim8202 If you set in to the pump at the hydrant then you boost it down to the pump near the fire scene. If you set your hydrant in like they have you lose pressure if the fireground pump is to far away. Easy way to solve this is switch over to the tank supply on the pump near the fire , knock off the hydrant and quickly put the hydrant supply in to that truck next to the hydrant. Far more effective.
