agreed, how can they all die at once? that would be a power supply problem. and if the power supply killed all the leds its just going to kill the new ones as well. i just found this tv next to a dumpster with no backlight at all, otherwise perfect condition. im just going to open it and do some tests on the power supply and see if i can find anything wrong. worst case ontario i put it back in the trash.
@@timothy288 oh damn, i wonder if you would have tested them if you found only 1 that failed. that would be a really shitty but cheap design. almost like the old school Christmas lights that fail from one bulb because they are all in series.
Okay so here’s what I learned. My bezel was held on by lots of clips that mostly broke when released. There’s also tape and glue that prevents the lcd from releasing like you see here where he uses suction cups. So my screen snapped and now it’s all in the trash. Just passing on my experience. Now I have to see if I can get my money back on the backlight LEDs. 😢 So maybe try taking the whole panel out with the black plastic edge would’ve worked. Good luck. Take it apart first. If the LCD survives then order backlights.
When the back lights fail completely all at once, is replacing the strips most likely the fix? Or is the power supplying the lights a common failure?

@@agentjwa I did change out the led’s and that was the fix. Evidently they run in series, so any open kills all the lights.

@@agentjwa exactly.
@@agentjwa you can replace them.

What should I look for if I'm getting no video, just pure white screen, after replacing the backlight strips?
Got lucky. No glue on mine.
