14:15 Formats live or die not because of the top decks but because of the people who shape their community. This is a solid statement of yours that sums up the real reason to play a cardboard game like YGO to begin with. Thanks for sharing it.

I can't claim to be a long-time watcher, and am more of a casual goat format enjoyer. But, I've really enjoyed your videos, and feel they explore topics in a well-rounded and level-headed manner (Edison vs. Goat etc.). I'm sorry to hear about all the drama that has gone on in the background. I appreciate your efforts into expanding the format, and am happy to hear that your life outside of goats is thriving and brings you joy and fulfillment. It sounds like you have a solid understanding of what is important to you in this moment, and I wish you all the best!

Like I told you before I work in the space and have nothing else to do anyway. This is not a joke, a lot of people would love a goat format simulator. If you're not interrested we will have to start from scratch.

Hey, Allen. Void here - thank you for your kind words and encouragement. It really means a lot.
I'm glad that I got the opportunity to help your channel out albeit for a short period, and I'm glad that I got to experience making Goat Format content, although that was short lived as well. I'm also sorry to hear that you'll be moving away from the simulator and channel, but I totally get you.
The truth behind why I deleted my UA-cam channel actually shares a lot in common with some key points you mentioned in your video. This niche just isn't one to really try expanding your horizons with and having UA-cam as a platform to share your cool, new deck ideas once in a while seems like the best mentality to have.
The problem is, it can be discouraging broadcasting your ideas to a small audience, and you may oftentimes find yourself asking why you're doing it in the first place. The other thing to consider is that if you try to force a schedule on yourself or try to constantly come up with new ideas, it sort of ruins the hobby for you, or at least it was doing that for me.
This is the main reason why I decided to delete my channel, although maybe it would've been better to keep it as an archive. Oh, well. Regarding negative comments, I never got fazed by them but they did remind me that while Goat Format is still as awesome as it's always been, there's only so much content and new topics to keep talking about apart from tournament coverage which gets stale. And while I've never been a top player or had the proper schedule/time to compete, I don't like casual play either and making such deck profiles was very boring and tedious for me.
Anyway, this comment's been long enough. I wish you all the best moving forward!

You got me into the format so I wanted to say thank you for that and a few other things. What comes across clearest in your videos is a mastery of the format - not just in your replay videos but your analysis and tactical discussions. That's impressive and it's what made me instantly interested in the channel. I should also say Void's stuff was good too, it's a shame people were as negative as you described.
All that said, I think it's very cool of you to make the decisions you are around this. It's a shame, but ultimately it is good to listen to yourself. if you aren't enjoying something like you thought you would. I'm glad you've found positive relationships in Cambodia, you're right to recognize the importance and value of those relationships and turn your focus towards them.

Think gaming brings people together rather than drives them apart. Most people are 'friends' because they drink together but those friendships fade *very fast* whereas niche community friends can really form bonds imo. You found yourself isolated in part because you didn't have a public discord server and didn't seem to recruit other programmers or product managers who could have taken a lot of the weight off your shoulders.
What cards did you struggle with in programming that got you to call it quits in particular? Convulsion of nature comes to mind but what other ones never reached development because too hard to implement?

I'm not a GOAT format player, but I enjoy watching the retro duels and seeing the different strategies, very interesting.. I only got into Yugioh through Master Duel a few months ago so I've been playing that a few times a week and enjoying it (even when I get one turn killed) it's a nice way for me to spend 30 mins - so my point is, good on you! You should focus on what you enjoy and what brings you happiness! If this was it, and not anymore, realizing that and adapting to it shows your maturity...
I remember when I was in high school my friend tried to get me into League of Legends, he spent the entire game (my first game ever) being angry with me for not knowing what to do or how to play, he was yelling and generally being a jerk, so I quit immediately. If you're trying to grow a community within a game or even just a network of friends to play with being inclusive and kind is a BIG part of that. I know it's gaming culture/online culture but especially when you have a grass roots niche thing like GOAT format for example, you gotta give people the tools and space to have fun and grow... otherwise they'll quit, you'll be static or shrinking as a community... It's not like league of legends suffered my not playing again, but I just went and played a different game that I enjoyed with a different friend and had a blast! It's my buddy who had to play alone or with random teams... everyone be kind and value your own time!
