      I disagree.....I think all you have to do is look and model. no need for anatomy ...just look and put it where it goes. no offense but it's how I did mine. in fact the anatomy got in the way.

      knowing anatomy doesn't hurt but if you are good at observing. you can do wonderful pieces

    I have both portraiture books by M. Faraut, and they are extremely helpful. The videos here are good too, and add to the information in the books. Highly recommended to buy these if you are serious about sculpture!

    Absolutely amazing, he's able to inject so much character and personality into an otherwise lifeless figure. And he sculpts with confidence (he seems so certain and sure of every single gesture he makes)

    I was lucky enough to get to work at a fine art foundry for 12 years and finish bronze bust just like that. This was very interesting to watch. Makes me want to try it.

    From the consistency and obvious water smoothing effect, I would say this is WED clay available at any pottery, sculpting or supply house. Great stuff for just about any venture into art. Thank you Disney.

    i never scuplted in my life, except when i was little and id play around with playdo, but ur videos make me really want to pick up some clay and build something. i feel like this is something i can do and it will come naturally. i reeaallly want to learn how to sculpt like you

    The way hes "slapping" the clay on the critic's head is done beautifully...Seems to resemble a little hate, but done gracefully...

    Many people don't understand the value of creative people being creative on camera and in front of others. The majority of humans are NOT creative. Creative people bring life into a dull world. Find what you have a passion for. Do it to the best of your abilities and you will inspire more than yourself.

    It is a low fire earthenware called Miller #10 I also use Laguna #210

    A forgiving type of clay is mid-range/hi fire porcelain stoneware. Not your typical porcelain. This type has a fine grog/sand mixed in and gives a great appearance in reduction gas firing. You'll have to find a porcelain stoneware that finishes more white than yellowish in an oxidation/electric fired product.

    The sculptor showed admirable restraint in modeling the "Art Critic" by not fully reproducing the usual full sneer of distain that is normally on display.
    Extremely fine work and a wonderful variety of subjects. I'll be buying a copy of the book.

    Thank you for this video! Some of the works were very beautifull. I always wanted to make sculptures, but never saw in action how one makes them. I wish to know what materials are those which have more of skin colours; their traits, and if one can blend them together with e.g. clay.

    HI! myself milind from india. you r great in clay sculpting. I like your sculpting video, I got inspired with this. myself make clay sculpting of idol ganpati n also animal (Horse, lion) but the problem is while making it as i am living at top floor clay gets dry very early please give me suggestion rather tell me what type of clay u use. thanks!

    Samozřejmě talent, pozorovací schopnost, emoce, temperament, vnimat celek modelovaného objektu, anatomie je dobře, něco jako nakreslit ve své mysli a pak, pak modelovat, ruce a hlina vede mozek duše tvoří..

    This looks like its waaaay easier to do in clay than in wax. We used the same method in my sculpture class. I never could get the hang of hair though.

      He has classes, they're usually in NY I think, although he visits other places occasionally. It's pretty expensive, but if you'd do "anything" I'm sure money's not a big deal. Look on his website.
