Gorgeous choreography and attention to detail. Performances like these require stamina. Sergei is a powerhouse! Even tenderness requires control and is a labor of love. Thank you very much , Sergei I think you dance for many who cannot.
Jonah Cook, who choreographed this piece is choreographing a ballet version of "Wuthering Heights" this summer for the Sevastopol Opera and Ballet - Sergei is supposed to star in the main role of Heathcliff. I look forward to hopefully getting to see clips from the performance.
Rachmaninoff's emotions and life experiences, his longings and yearnings, are being brilliantly brought to life by Sergei Polunin's excellent Contemporary Ballet dance. Set to the beautiful music Prelude in C Sharp Minor Op. 3 No. 2 by the man, Rachmaninoff, himself. We love Rachmaninoff ❤️. And we love Polunin, too ❤❤❤❤❤. And thank you as always to @ I I for sharing ❤😊.
Hurray, I have been waiting to “hear” from you, India. I need our Polunin. Strong and graceful, passionate and gentle. Sergei could dance in a suit of armor and yet express all of these qualities. The rattling may disturb us though! Isn’t he the most life giving dancer of our time? He spreads seeds of hope and caring wherever he goes.
I'm glad you enjoyed! ❤ Yes, Sergei is all you say. 🥰 I know I did slow down on posting last year. Sergei did a lot in 2023! But I've just had a lot going on and haven't been able to make time to post material. But I've managed to post several videos over the past few weeks and I'm working on finishing a backlog of projects, so I'll hopefully be able to share more regularly over the next few months. 🥰
Сожаление, что не видим Сергея сегодня в классическом балете, но огромное удовольствие видеть то, чем он занимается сейчас! Сергей бесконечно талантливый! успеха и новых достижений!!
Very glad to share! I'm also very interested to see what Jonah Cook and Sergei might create together. ☺ I hadn't seen this particular dance credited to Jonah Cook, so didn't list him as the choreographer. I know Jonah choreographed the Rachmaninoff piece that premiered a month or so before this in Sevastopol. Do you know, was this solo a part of that larger work?
I was wondering why we had not heard anything about this third darling baby. What is his name? I loved the peeks into the baby lives of Mir and Dar, and would love a peek at this third miracle as well! Congratulations, Sergei and Elena! ♥️
@cotatigirl8590 They just shared a photo of the new baby earlier this month (I’ll have to share on my community page for those who don’t follow his Facebook fan pages.) Sergei said the baby’s name is Era.
❤ I'm glad you liked it! Yes, it's a shame that we're missing out on some of the dancing, but we can understand that the person filming the video was too engrossed in watching Sergei dance to realize that the camera wasn't on Sergei for a few moments. But I'm grateful that a viewer filmed it and shared it so we could see the performance at all!❤

Rachmaninoff and Polunin are double pleasure for me.

Oh my! Thank you for sharing this beautiful work. I’m in awe of what choreographer Jonah Cook is creating together with dancer Sergei Polunin

Браво! 🥰✨
Здесь камера должна прямо бежать за ним, чтобы ничего не ускользнуло. ...Это так здорово, что СЛОВ, КАК В СКАЗКЕ СКАЗАТЬ, НИ ПЕРОМ ОПИСАТЬ!!!
