On the surface, this might look like any other ordinary Volkswagen Golf, but take a closer look and you’ll realise that this is in fact the first BlueMotion Golf with a petrol engine instead of a diesel.
It’s powered by a dinky little 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine, which has been designed to drive like any other petrol-engined car but which will make you think twice about whether or not you need that frugal diesel.
So how does it stack up against the more traditional offering? Is the petrol BlueMotion the revelation it hopes to be? We took it for a special eco-run review to see how it does.

I have a 2012 scirocco 1.4 tsi turbo only and its interesting vw made a 1ltr version for the golf with almost near identical performance
Excellent video, good to see the presenter back on form. Could I be cheeky and ask about the possibility of a real world fuel economy test, like this one, but with a petrol-electric hybrid? That would be interesting as there appears to be a deficit of long-distance hybrid driving. Wonder how a Toyota/Lexus hybrid would compare to a the 1.0 TSI Golf or even a turbodiesel car.

I would recommend this Car as I think It has a great engine and better than the Diesel

I would consider a Passat GT tdi, golf is far too small for me & I don't believe in petrols
