Imagine all the people that played this during July/August 2008 during the actual olympics... So many memories were made. The day a certain event was on TV, they played it in this game. This game was mind-blowing to game fans everywhere. The opening cutscene alone cemented it's mark in video game history. Even before Smash bros brawl, Mario and Sonic starred in this game together.
The fact that the character's mouths move when they have a voice line gives the game so much more personality!! I wish they kept that for the other olympic games.
I love how in the swimming events, since Sonic is the only one who really don’t know how to swim, he has to wear a life jacket, but still can dog paddle XD

wow! i moved on to winter 2010 and I'm about to play London 2012 soon, but chees I'm looking at this and I'm a little nostalgic to it already and i played this like 1 year ago in Marth maybe or February. and I'm like playing a game of the franchise for like 6 months and than i move on to the next one without playing the previous one after I'm gone to every Mario and Sonic Olympic games for like 6 months. i also play the DS/3DS/ versions, oh and mobile 2020.

In this game for the characters with clothing I never understood why they swam in their normal clothes, I just wish they were given swimwear for the aquatics haha

I’d say it’s luck and skill at the same time. Also if it’s a tall character you’re up against, it’s easier to lose.
