Us Missourian calls is batten or batting. But in other States people may have other names for it but we all know we're talking about. the same thing.Seeing that lizard 🦎🦎 was so cool lived it. Spring 🌼🌼 is just around the corner for sure.
Hi Tyler and Brittany, we have always called that wall pattern “board on board”…..I am sure that there are 20 other names for it all over the country haha. Thanks for the video. Take care!
Hey, that’s a nice look on your shed there. I think they call it B&B sided board and board siding anyways you do a great job you too. I love you guys I like to watch you keep up the good work.
They call it board on board here in north eastern Pennsylvania. Not common but you can see examples of it here and there. Older generation said it kept the wind and snow out better than board and batten.
we always called it board on board siding. by putting 1x12's on the back and then a 1x10 on the front, overlapping 1 inch on each side gives equal spacing
I really like that look . I’ve done board and bat but never like that . I have an old barn that needs restoring but it’s bigger and on blocks with main floor Timbers rotted .
My pole barn is 48' deep and I've been thinking about boarding up both sides. You just gave me my answer, I like the wide boards as a cap rather than a narrow board! Thanks for sharing !
That's gonna be a great looking shed when done. Liked the way you over lapped the boards. It's a good thing to replace or repair Shedd when you got the logs / lumber in the yard.
The barn will look outstanding when you are finished . Money and time well spent . FYI there is channel Just A Few Acres Farm .The rasie and sell beef chickens pigs . Pete also restores Farmall tractors you might enjoy it .Have a great weekend !
Looks good I think I like it that way better than the one by two strip going over the top of them you know leaving an inch gap in between the two boards and put the last board over the top. I like that style that you’re doing much better.😎🥃🥃
From Australia. What ever you do don't breath out to heavy, or it will be a rebuild instead of a restoration 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Great job as usual, it must be a tad warmer today 👍
A lot of barns were made with one by twelve, but there was only an inch. Yeah, between the boards but they put a bat. They call it to cover up the crack. And I don't remember what that was called for Siding
Using all wide boards in a "board and batten" style like that was often done when all that was available was fresh cut green boards but you had some urgency to go ahead get a building put up for immediate use. Overlapping generously to allow for a lot of shrinkage as it dried out was the main goal. It will be good.
You know some of those logs look ratty, but inside they turn out to be good looking lumber, how great, just take off that ratty skin and wo- la fine looking wood
Fantastic Work, and It Looks Great! Cheers from Wisconsin!

I really like the way that the new wall looks. I dont think that I have ever seen siding done like that and it looks very good.
First time seeing that new "board & batten" technique. What a great idea, saves time and fasteners., Good job, Tyler & Britteney
Glad you enjoyed it!

I love the Reverse board and Batten look, I will be using that on my implement shed this Spring. I want to use 8" and 4" lumber.
They call it board on board here in north eastern Pennsylvania. Not common but you can see examples of it here and there. Older generation said it kept the wind and snow out better than board and batten.
We call it the same thing in Virginia…..haha
It’s called reverse board and batten. Even though the boards and battens are the same size, the battens appear to be larger due to the spacing.
I was going to say that but checked to see if anyone already had. Thanks
Same here.
Like to see more of you working on the barn
Yep looks good time will all come together

2 thumbs up like it over the other board and batten style
It's called reverse board and batten....done it thousands of times in the mountains of california....

Looking good
Hey, maybe you could cut the batting for the chicken house and put them up. I like the look of the tractor shed.
Looks real good Tyler and Britney. Always watch your videos.

that looks like a good way to side a building.
One thing I would like to see in detail is how the pallet banding works before I get it for my sawmill
That s awesome keep up the good work 😊😊
Don't know the name, but looks like the boards are the battens. Beautiful look. Thanks, for the video.
I like the old ways, But at 76, I guess I'm old too.
The barn will look outstanding when you are finished . Money and time well spent . FYI there is channel Just A Few Acres Farm .The rasie and sell beef chickens pigs . Pete also restores Farmall tractors you might enjoy it .Have a great weekend !
Great looking siding lumber, and a great siding method. Liked the video! Cheers.

Like to see the complete wall.....did you put on primer then paint the wall to protect it?
Alternate Board and Batten
Hey y'all, it's called board and batten no matter how wide the boards are. I believe your own words are best. Have a great day.
Thanks for that!
From Australia. What ever you do don't breath out to heavy, or it will be a rebuild instead of a restoration 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Great job as usual, it must be a tad warmer today 👍
Are you going to put a sealer or weather proof material on the wall/barn?
Like the video nice see you mix up what you do all work to do around farm thank you

Is the siding cypress?
I'm not sure what that siding style is called. I have seen another UA-camr that does that with live edge. Think he's on the other side of the pond.

What clickbait? Literally your comment is ridiculous.
I guess your 50 old barn title...back 50 years ago they might of been called barns not sheds...
