Listening to Grand Funk on the 8 track tape , while cruising in my 67 GTO , will never forget those days circa early 70s . Recently saw Mark perform at Dania Beach Casino , he brought the house down . Love you brother.
You, my friend, partook in AMERICA. So did I. Such freedom, such prosperity, such gratitude. God wants that for ALL of His children. It's up to US to make it happen. Btw, I drove a '66 Chevy Caprice.
I love this guy. Saw GFR at the beginning.couple of times....Mark Farner brings the energy, he defined GFR..and man, all these years later, that voice...I swear it's haunting how it just hits you right in the heart, Hell, I think he sounds the same or better than ever. Big Farner Fan. !! 👍
yeah, I hear you, everyone today has got to voice their political views. I wish all of them would just stick to their craft, they have exposure that's why they speak out, the little guy, or gal can't get word out to 100 million people at once like these actors and musicians. I know Farner is a god nut too these days, he talks about that in interviews, FINE. When he's playing, I just wanna hear him play. so yeah, I agree. But damn, he's still got it 👍
I told President Trump in a letter that I dedicate this GFR song to him after he was Elected, as he became The Captain of America's Ship, as it needed turning around. I've seen Mark perform this Live and yes, he's great!! There's no Grand Funk Railroad without him, that's for sure!! Shea Stadium 1973 All the way!!
I was at this Streetsboro show.Mark and the band NEVER disappoint! When he said "I feel God in here"-he wasn't kidding, because as a believer,I felt the POWER and was definitely IN THE SPIRIT. Can't wait to see these guys again. They are the real deal!
Elise Barthalow I'm a Boro guy who moved away a long time ago (Class of 75). My sisters still live there and they didn't tell me about this show. They are in trouble now!
I am 62 now and will never ever forget the lovely tunes these guys kicked out....they rocked hard and had a take no prisoners approach!!!! todays popppers haven't a clue (they love to sing falsetto, lololol).... these GFR guys kick.
Man when I was a teen musician in the early 70s I thought GFR were absolute gods...... so glad to see Mark is still with us & sounding great as ever..... thank you guys for the music then & now helped mold my life.... always will love ya'll MyDaMnWoRd 😎🔫
I am so glad Mark has recovered lost ground after the bad way his brothers of the Original Grand Funk Railed him out of his rights as lead vocalist and the power behind the success of GFR. He has been restored. Praise God. Great voice after so many years and he still pitches well. Great stuff Mark and the new brothers!!
Coming to see you in April, Mark. Been listening to you since I discovered my dad's copy of E Pluribus Funk when I was a pre-teen. Thank you for inspiring me to sing! God bless!
I remember when I was in the Navy and we would be coming back in from a long deployment and the captain would always play something on the intercom like Willie Nelson On the road again, or Homeward bound by Simon and Garfunkel and of course a frequent one would be Closer to home. It really was a great tune for any military guy.
Not what Don meant Jay, was referring to the gift God gave Mark… To express beauty with music and his voice. Few receive it so fortunately for us, Mark was able to share with all his fans.
don't see the MC5 in there either...makes ya think there is some sort of bias against the home of rock in roll.. but real Detroiters could give a fuck less...
@Rudy1959 Romero Greed?? Well for one, WTF would that have to do with it???? Two, Don is the greedy asshole, but it still shouldn't effect them getting the RRHOF....
I would love to see the entire show.I was there that evening with my brother and a friend.Another great night with Mark Farner and his band!Thank you for shooting and sharing this!
As an ex Navy ABH3, this song rings true most with our great Navy aviator's who, I regret, did not make it back to their ship. Yankee Station...1969. That being said, God bless every person who has, or is serving in our GREAT MILITARY!!!!

I subscribed so let's see what you got!!! Mark Farner appears to be in great shape and sounding better than ever! Christian, me too! Dedicated to the Veterans around the world, this is a beautiful thing. Music from musicians, no silly dance routine with McDonald's Drive thru window earpiece for a fake microphone!! Call me old, but I'm glad I got to grow up listening to this kind of music and going to concerts!
I was twelve or so when I first started paying attention to the rock LPs that my older brother was listening to in his room. Mark, Don, & Mel was just such an album. I feel very fortunate to have been exposed to rock music of this age, just slightly ahead of what pre teen boys listening to AM pop , like myself, may have been listening to.
Great is great, and this is great music. I was so fortunate to open for GFRR at the Las Vegas Convention Center, I think if was 1974? not sure, but it was Grand Funk RR, Freddy King and my band Skurow. Sold out, about 10,000. people.
We did the warmup for Bloodrock, who was the warm up for GFR. What a fun night us, “under the stars with the stars” at Pirates World (Dania Beach, FL) 1971
