I just love it as a 90s kid listening to the players talk. LJ is a great example of a Knick...he gave everything he had left in his body to the NY Knicks and was a big game player and we love him for that. These guys really are the lunchpale blue collar superstars we thought they were.
One of the most objective, honest, humble, high IQ takes by my guy LJ. I knew he’d say Josh Hart co-teammate before he said it. Mad respect for having him on.
Came to a Knicks season game on a Sunday afternoon against New Orleans 2yrs ago and LJ the Legend was walking outside with the Knicks Fans no security and taking pics with all the Knicks Faithfuls, MAN OF THE PEOPLE. Truly a class act and one of my favorite Knicks players of all time memorable and unforgettable moments ❤️💪🏿🙏🏿.
Salute! So nice seeing LJ up in here taking advantage of the best Knicks platform of all. Grandmamma balled out for us when he was here, even with health scares. Glad he's still involved with the franchise.
When LJ came to the Knicks, i expected the second star next to Ewing, the LJ from the Charlotte Hornets. Early that first season, when i saw physically he was not the same player, i grew a littlle disappointed, even as i appreciated his presence, because by then i could already see the intangibles: the leadership, the respect for the game, the love of the game, and the camaraderie with his teamates. By the end of that first season, he'd already become one of my favorite Knicks of all time. The man had amazing basketball IQ. He had the strength of a strong PF but the court vision and unselfishness of a PG. I learned so much about how to appreciate the intricacies of the game watching him. Great interview!! And Thank You, LJ!!
Thanks LJ for mentioning Derrick " DC" Coleman. Just like LJ said you had to guard him the full length of the court because dude did EVERYTHING on the court at 6'10". Handles, shoot, pass, rebound, block shots. A complete player.
WOW HAVE TO GIVE IT TO YOU FOR HAVING LARRY HANDLING BUSINESS JOHNSON ON YOUR PODCAST. HE IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE GREATEST KNICKS. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED HIM AS A KNICKERBOCKER. HIS INSIGHT ON THE KNICKS UPCOMING SEASON AND THE ANALYSIS OF THE POSITIVE EFFECT THAT UNGUARDABLE BRUNSON IS TRULY BRINGING TO THE KNICKS TEAM IS 💯🔥ON POINT. HAD ME LAUGHING TALKING ABOUT GAME 4 VS PHILA AND THE NYC FANS TURNED UP. THANKS FOR HAVING LARRY JOHNSON ON YOUR PODCAST. ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the Interview. C.P & L.J. l would C.P to bring L.J more often during the season. I would like C.P to bring more New York Knicks Legends for Interviews. Love seeing them talk about our 2024 -2025 New York Knicks and to support them. Much love C.P & L.J
Late to the party watching this one. LJ one of my all time favs!!!! I watched so much ball in the 90s, i was on varsity 97 -00 and that knicks team will always be special to me
Got a good one with this interview. LJ has always been a real one and true fan favorite for that reason. Always been a fan, and especially after he sent a congratulations video for my wedding.. great job CP!
As a teenager in the 90s..LJ was my favorite player that wasn't a Knick and I still remember hearing him getting traded to us and thinking it was 🧢 till I saw em playing! Once a Knick always a Knick so happy to see CP doing great things Salute 👑
Salute CP! I hope this podcast setting is used for your other interviews, it's well put together. Great to see LJ being interviewed, one of the great knicks and nba players of the 90s. LJ also doesn't do interviews much or not at all. Excellent questions asked CP, well done sir.
Looking Back at Last Season the Knicks Got Off to a Slow Start the 1st Half of the Season! They Didn’t Get Cooking Until Julius Randle Started to Percolate. Leave Julius Randle Alone. He Will Help this Team Immensely! He’s a Team Player and He Understands the Bigger Picture!
Pray to God they never let Randi go, at least get 1 chip with this guy, I love Randi's game, I slept on him his first season but when he came back, he was like seeing a different person, it was damn near Elite...... put it this way it was like what JR Smith did for me, it gave me hope, love Randle prays for him and his family because ppl need peace in their home to function at their best!
38:04 - looking at the game logs, I think Larry is confusing the 1999 season with the 2000 season. In the 2000 playoffs when we lost to the Pacers LJ had 3 pts in game one and dropped 25 in game two. In 1999 LJ was balling from game one against the Pacers until he hurt his knee in game six.
