The wonderful Travis Heckel artwork, coupled with Jim calling them “...fucking Tree Elves”, instantly made me think of the old episode of ‘The Simpsons’, with the evil jockeys; who threaten to “eat Homer’s brain”, if his horse doesn’t lose the next race.
They sing a song, which begins something like:
“We are the Jockeys,
The Jockeys are we,
We live underground,
In a fibreglass tree,
‘Tween Earth and Hell,
We reign supreme.
On toadstool thrones,
By a chocolate stream”
But I probably shouldn’t mention it, or I might give Stunt, and/or AEW, ideas on a new angle for him; then we’ll end up seeing the little bastard, on either AEW TV, or some Indie wrestling promotion, dressed up like either: a character who was evicted from Enid Blyton’s ‘Far Away Tree’; or a bitter ex-member of the “Lollipop Guild”, who was thrown out, because he didn’t meet the required height standards...
Let’s face it: those ludicrous scenarios of mine, aren’t any worse than the shit “Stunted Growth”, and AEW, have done in the past.

This spot is the main reason why his contract is going to be left to expire, I hope Jim revisits this topic now that Marko is about to be off the roster. It's already been 3+ months since he's been on any broadcast and they have kept him off tv basically ever since. This idiot ruined the best booking potential he will ever have over a stupid Indy spot. The only reason they had Marko was to appeal to kids who couldn't correlate that he was an undersized adult. Tony Khan just got done talking about how professionalism is the number 1 criteria in his hires going forward in 2022, I can't think of a more blatant example of an unprofessional decision than Marko destroying the branding that AEW had given to him by doing something like that spot.

I still don't think that Marko Stunt should be in competitive matches, but he does have a good story. He has Scoliosis, which is why he is so small. I had an aunt that suffered from it, and it is a very difficult disease to live with, let alone compete athletically.

How they got on the politically correct train I really don't know, but I'm going to guess it is because they signed Nyla Rose and then realized she was a transwoman. That's my guess, because she was getting pushed fairly hard by Chigusa Nagayo but not quite hard enough to have residence in Japan. I could be wrong, maybe that's just Cody or Brandi's attitude, and it happened to bleed into the rest of the production, but they are supposed to be an elitist fed first and foremost.

As much as I would like to see AEW to get taken off the air, I must admit, I do enjoy Jim's harsh criticism of the promotion. The drama with Meltzer and Jericho over social media is just the icing on the cake.
Honestly, I don't want it taken off the air yet. If AEW fails before another promotion can get cable, that will seriously hamper anyone else's chances of ever getting cable again. Now once something else gets it, be it NWA, Ring Warriors or whatever, I'll be fine with AEW crashing and burning, but the fact that we've gotten this so soon after TNA was booted from Spike is extraordinary. If we lose both TNA and AEW in five, or even ten years, without someone else rising up to fill the void, that won't be good for wrestling.
Granted, whether it will be worse for wrestling than the quality of AEW's product? I guess that is an argument worth having. A formal debate perhaps, Jim Cornette booked to argue for closure, and Dutch Mantel/Konnan/Jerry Jarrett/Savio Vega booked to argue for continuation? It really wouldn't matter which combination of the names were chosen or which side they fell on.

I don't want him fired. I want him to grow up. Why would you get involved in something like this when you are on global television already? Of course other people did worse things, but that doesn't mean you can't criticize other things just because they are less offensive.
