If you actually believe that Aries Spears is turning down club gigs when the best motion he has is Vlad TV interviews, I just sold three salt trucks in Phoenix.
Capone a real one. Hands down. Aries comes off as if you don’t look at him as one of the best. He doesn’t rock with you. It’s like any job in the world. People who work somewhere for a long time, like 14 years in at the company at a Corporate Job. Feel their tenure allows them to get paid more, respected more, recognized more, awarded more, etc. But it’s not always like that. I was at my last gig for 18 years. I understood that someone younger than me can come in the door making more than me because times has changed. The game changed. Part of the hard work I put in possibly allowed for some of that change so that the guy coming up under me, mixed with inflation, can step in my same shoes and get paid more than me. Now, I can get upset and throw a tantrum or be full of myself & demand more for the same role and not expect to do more. Or, I can take my talents to Long Beach/Miami/Cancun aka the competitor or another job willing to pay me for my experiences & get more that way. It’s about choices. I was upset when I heard Aeries speak on it. It came off as arrogant. But truthfully. He ain’t no different than anyone else who wants more. Considering he’s in comedy. If he limits his own travel because he doesn’t want to continue to do the work to be well known. Maybe Vlad helps him do less of shows but still get known. I don’t know. I’m not in that industry. But I do know. Like at my job. If I want more. I have to go to industry night. I have to show my face. And with that comes judgement. Maybe someone doesn’t like me for whatever. I keep pushing. Aeries the same way. Keep pushing even if the south don’t get it per “his”words, not mine. I just know Aeries has one joke I’ve ever liked and was funny as heck to me & still is. When he talks about having a white friend who came to his house and his mom told him to do something. And the white friend said “Dude! This is your personal space. She can’t do that. Want me to talk to her for you?” And Aeries was like naw you gonna get us both vanished. So, yeah. I haven’t seen enough of Aeries to say whether I like him or not. But one thing is for sure. If he chooses “not” to perform in my area and where I can see him in the south. I’m definitely not going to ever get it because he’s not visible to me. Facts.
