Creating perfect tactics in #FM22 can be a bit daunting, but in this Football Manager 2022 video, I breakdown how I created a BROKEN 4-3-1-2 in the hope it helps others to be able to create their "perfect" tactic from scratch. In the video, I showcase the results I got with Chelsea, my method at looking at the squad and recognising it's strengths, creating the tactic and style of play, and lastly, we play a match to see how the tactic plays out in Football Manager 2022.

Fun fact, Thomas Tuchel actually used this tactic against Madrid before adjusting RLC as a wingback mid game.

This tactic is almost PNP if you have a decent squad. I tried it on my Arsenal save. It was OK. Then I decided to experiment a bit and switched the roles of the three MCs to RPM and dropped the middle one to DM. The results were devastating. 4 games played GD 28:0 OMG! Can't wait to see how it works out long term :D

@@veyselkeles2715 Currently on a 23 game winning run. Conceded only 4, 2 from Pool, 1 from Wolves and 1 from Chelsea. Scored less than 3 in just 4 games where I rotated the squad heavily.
@@pataroque got a 5-3-1-2 tac, and dominating the alian league with Inter and only one loss in the champions league. I know the italian league isnt quite like the prem, but i beat juve and the other big clubs quite ez. Had some amazing transfer too so i guess that was worth it :D

@@RDFTactics Meant to ask you, if you rest your starting 11 for 2 or 3 days after a match, then when do they actually train haha. It's just because most good teams would play 2 games a week due to league football or cups and European games.
yooo have you ever tried making a 5-2-1-2 tactic? its my favourite formation in the game and it allows wing backs to thrive really well.
Not yet. I was actually trying to do Tedesco at RB Leipzig who uses a 3-4-1-2 on occasions. Just trying to get it right at the moment

@@kunaguero581 oh what a coincidence. I was trying to find out if anyone recreated Serbia tactic under Stojković because Serbia plays 3 at the back with wingers (not wing-backs). So basically it would be 3-4-1-2
Agreed. I got a 5-2-1-2 tiki taka and it’s the best thing I made. Having a Treq at AM is a cheat code
The funniest thing for SI to do would be to completely nerf the AF role in a future edition of the game. Year after year it's the most reliable goalscoring forward role and so many tactics are entirely built around it. If it had the legs cut out from under it, it would cause so many problems.
As would the Much higher line of engagement, much higher defensive line and much more urgent pressing - 99% of successful tactics I see posted have these
@@jonandrews6299 I usually play with lower line of engagement and normal defensive line because my GK is not a good sweeper keeper, and I look to load the midfield with number (but I still play with much more urgent pressing). I understand what you mean tho, I know those high press high line tactic is great but it don't usually work for team that don't have huge squad depth imo.

This reminds me a lot of a tactic you made last year called CONCERTO. It was a 424 with one winger playing as either an IW or IF on attack and the other was a W on support.
The two striker system worked like a dream for me when I used Chelsea. Turned Havertz into an F9 and Werner as an AF or PF.
Also had the FB on the opposite side as the IW working as an IWB.
It was, in my humble opinion, a masterpiece of a tactic, especially for Chelsea. It actually sold me on the idea that Kai Havertz was a more natural striker then he is a CAM in real life because he was so absolutely dominant as an F9 using Concerto.
But yeah, I need to try this out with Chelsea and see what he can do.
93rd to like! great video as always. and thanks for showing what you tried and why you changed it, makes a huge difference in seeing how the engine works. I share your frustration with the game engine working one way for computer opponents and one way for your team--you have more patience than I do. 94 goals though, that's why when the Premier League is simulated 100 times, Lukaku averages 29-30 goals a season. FM knows something that Tuchel and Chelsea don't, eh? Time will tell.

Can you make a 3-2-5 (3-2-3-2) formation video? I'm trying it right now with Almere City in the Dutch 'Keuken Kampioen Divisie'. Whilst having some succes (got promoted my first season) and being a mid table size in the Eredivisie in my second season. There are a few downsides in this formation, mostly being, defensive, or the lack there of. Could use some help.

Thanks for the tip on resting players to help with injuries, how many days if you have 7days till your next game (6 days)?
You only really enough days for your players to return to fitness. You can set your squad selection screen to show a number of stats for your players. One of these stats is 'fatigue'. If you have a small squad you'll want to try and avoid to many low or fatigued indicators and you can do this through longer rest between games. However if you have a large squad this is easier to maintain through rotation. The longer the rest, the less training. So you can see the conundrum....

@@McCromar Yes. I played 6 month and was doing okay but nothing special. Maybe I was a little naive thinking this team could do the numbers mentioned without a major rebuild. I'll maybe have a go with a better team

Try it out 🤣 you do need a Lukaku type striker. I tried it at Napoli and Osmihen was great. At Genk, Paul Onuachu was great. I’m guessing Ronaldo would be at United, Vlahovic at Juve and Isak too
