- Taylor Swift's music has been wiped from TikTok, along with a slew of other big names, all because TikTok is stuck in a feud with the Universal Music Group.
UMG is the biggest record label in the world, with artists like Taylor Swift, Drake, Adele, Ariana Grande, SZA and The Beatles, but they've been locked in a bitter dispute with TikTok and now, as of the time of recording, the artists are simply gone from the platform.

The problem with tiktok (this time) is that they grind these songs into the ground despiteonly using 5 seconds of them. But no one should care as long as they still have that chipmunk singing oh no... oh no... oh no no no no no, right?
I don't use Tiktok, but I have looked up tons of songs from the clips sent to me by friends. Mr. kitty - After Dark being one.

Do I think these artists should be fairly compensated? Yes.
Do I think UMG is shooting itself in the foot removing it's artistsfrom on the the biggest social media platforms, a place where people discover and develop music tastes and that acts as essentially free promotion, except it's not free because TikTok pays them money? Also yes.

Literally all the songs that blow up are because they go viral on TikTok. Plus the hypocrisy are you kidding me??? The amount of content creators on UA-cam mainly that even have some song playing in the background of a store they’re recording in that get copyrighted by UMG is insane.
