I just figured most of this out last night, but I didn't know about getting attacked within enemy nation's territories. Thanks for the guide matey, very informative!
@Jerry King some goods just dont sell well in that area. Danish yeast being one of them. I would need to go and look at the port of KPR and see what they have compared to where it would sell nicely. the British waters dont have the best trade routes at the moment other than KPR to Port au prince. what goods are bought and sold i dont know. some small items like danish yeast need to be sailed across the map to sell for higher prices. best thing you can do is find an item that is a high price and sail it about an hour away to sell it for a great price. always look for things such as Historical Artifacts and masks. Rubber, Honey and French items.
You have warned us not to sail into enemy capitals. Are all other nations capitals other than your own enemy capitals? If some other nations are friendly to yours how do you gather that information?Thank you for your time, Dylan Woolems, Master and Cmdr.
At all capitals in the game (nations that have capitals that is) there will be what are called HDFs (Home defense fleets) these fleets will tag anything that is not of there own nation, they are fast and strong. there is no friendly nation to them. they are designed to protect the new players of the game from constant ganking. List of capitals > Port Royal, Gustavia, La Habana, Willamstad, Fort Royal, Christianstad, Charlston, Mortimer town.
@@Rook2299 Thank you for making all this very clear! I recently took a mission and asked to take my patrons to a Spanish port. That took a long time but when I got to the Spanish port I was not able to dock so the mission was awash. I'm not sure why NA gives you missions that cannot be accomplished. So the bottom line as a British Capt. I can only trade with other British ports. Do I have that right?
@@jerryking1548 Incorrect. I will add that to my next video to explain more clearly. you cannot enter an enemy port in a warship. you need to be in a trade ship only. not even basic cutters can enter enemy port.
@@Rook2299 howdy there. Looking at this, this is very informative. I do wanna ask, with the trade ships, would enemy privateer fleets still aytack you if you're in an Indiaman?
Thanks very helpfull, I'd been looking for a simple video like this for hours. Short sweet to the point, well done.

The fact from what I've seen so far Is nice as in other games there's an entire economy here there isn't.

trading was a good thing in this game. now its not worth it.
6:17: I was thinking the window sound was comming in from my computer lol
My trader tool doesnt show buy, only sell.
Mostly every where you can sell provisions as high as 15 reales
Great vid. I guess all of this also applies to the PVE-server right?
not 100% no
@@Rook2299 what are the differences?
@@GavinLeavitt177 one server is effected by what other players do more than the other.
Is there like a fix respawn time for the Trading goods? Like when you buy in about 30 min they spawn again? or is it random?
ill look into it. last i remember its about every 45 minutes or 1 hour. im not sure though
Is there a way to get around taxes?
Not if you do not own the port.
some ports have 0 taxes
will ai attack trade ships in foriegn capital zones?
if you are in a Trader Lynx, you will be fine as long as you are fast. but anything bigger you have a chance of being tagged in the Capital zone

@@kalvinchester4068 yes, privateer fleets attack all enemies that are close enough for them to lock onto.
