I finally had some time over the christmas holidays to get out my photo albums and scanner and start to scan up some old photos. Hopefully someone enjoys this.
if one understands life and its trials ,then they will, for sure, appreciate all the old and new pictures, and the person who took the time to put them together for the pleasure of all public viewing.thanks much
Great pictures, you saw some great country up there. You remind me of myself moving to Port Hardy in 1972, so many wonderful memories. Camp life and the crews that work them. BC built on logging, mining and fishing.
Great collection of photos. I worked there in 81/82 we were straightening the main line from beach camp to 25 mile with Whonock then. think it was O'Conner's camp then, Bob Stephens was hauling the wood. keep them coming!
Really enjoyed this, cruising mainlines and seeing God's green Earth is one of my favorite sports, pretty awesome equipment too (subbed your channel)... thanks for sharing :)
About the same era my dad was bunching around Prince George. Still operates today, started out when he was about 15 with my grandpa on an old CAT 518 Line Skidder and later Case 1187 Buncher. Once the logging gets in your blood it seems to stay forever lol.
They originally bought two 280LCs and used them for a long time. I don't know what happened to them. Then two HE360LCH units were purchased brand new for the Interfor work in Quatlena. I believe that was 1997? They still have them today. I know they had one 360 going in Hotham Sound in Jervis Inlet quite recently. They seem to work ok, I suppose.
Tax me I'm Canadian dereck still has two 360 hallas over on the main land working for tamihi logging,as well as the old off hwy lowbed too, its up Harrison lake, thanks for sharing video, very cool.
johnny mac Neat stuff, I'm sure that's the same two 360 Hallas that I was around in Quatlena. They ran pretty good in there. It wasn't an easy life for them, vicious terrain. I knew he was over there working for Dormans, that's been going on for a few years now I believe. Good comment.

And I'm pretty sure MT Waddington is the tallest peak in British Columbia.
Nice vid. Wish I could be there...
Metric conversion for a 69er is 181. Great machine in their day.
Thanks, that brought back some memories. What was the name of the camp across the Homathko River?
I USED TO TOW BOOM STICKS TO THAT AREA
GOOOOD MUSIC
Is there any of that glacier left today? Tried looking on google earth with no luck finding it.
hey there. that truck drivers name is Gary Billings. as far as i know he is still working with the bjornsons
You're right. I forgot his name until you mentioned it. I wouldn't be surprised that he still works for them.
Oh yeah, They closed Border Service last Friday so I guess you were right. Still got the run of the place for now. Told em I would pay the utilities.
I was wondering that. That place looked like it was on life support.
great work that was very well done love seeing the old Euclid with the tandems under it how well did it turn?
It wasn't the tightest turning radius, but it got around really well.
Nice slideshow and quipment buddy !
Thanks, Jos. I appreciate the comment.

A time gone by, bet it looks different now?
Much different, I am sure.
Nice slice of history, how did the Halla hold up? I giggled a bit when I saw the first pic. HOLLA!

Would that be Paul Gill the driller? If so, I was working nightshift with him here in Gold River.
Yup, heard he got a blast get away from him in Quatlena, so got sent away. Don't know much to that though.
