If Fuji would make a new small point and shoot that would, in comparison to cell phone, offer attractive things like shooting experience, raw and color profiles, zoom lens with some low light potential, video with built in ND, stabilized, and maybe a few updated retro features (toy, miniature, time lapse, macro, filters, etc), they would sell a bunch. Like a little sister to the x100v, a modern retro little Fuji jewel. Please! Make one!
They do, the Fujifilm XQ1 or XQ2. It has everything you mentioned, including raw, its also smaller than the XF1, but has a bigger sensor, the same one as the X30. The only thing it doesn't have is an evf or timelapse, but you can't expect everything in a tiny advanced compact!
Your photographs taken with this camera are absolutely beautiful. It goes to show that when you follow the light with skill, basically every camera takes great images.
Great to see a review on this classic from Fuji. Unfortunately the XF1 models were known to have quality control issues mainly with the sensor and the lens mechanism. That didn't deter me though, I ended up owning two of them although the life of the first one was cut short by said 'issues'. Hope you have a long and happy relationship with yours. Beautiful little camera.
It is a very stunning image unique to itself. Beautiful warm photos well done! I own one and highly recommend the xf1 even in 2024. A camera to care for and will last a long time like anything one looks after.
Thank you much for this video as this is the only review I found talking about the XF1 that didn't came from many years ago. Now im excited, I ordered mine for a fairly cheap price and it will arrived in a few days. ❤
I hope you enjoy it! Try opening the lens smoothly, I herd there are some problems with a wire inside. Not all cameras have this problem but better safe than sorry.
@@AndreiDimaReviews is that the lens? When uncovering as you showed? I bought 2yr insurance repair or money back, so I feel ok, but I hope I can keep it for a while!
I bought mine when it was first announced. It has been stored away for years till I came across it today. The battery is now on charge, I hope it still works, I remember it was a beautiful camera.
I loved the XF1 and had 2 of them, but Fujifilm did not manage to build the wonderful retracting lens reliably. Had it been reliable I would still have one. So, enjoy it while it works!
I want a small camera for a vacation trip. And i thought this ones is perfect, but how do you get such beautiful images? Is there a simpel tutorial (for beginners) out there that teaches you how to shoot and colour grade like this? Let me know!
@@AndreiDimaReviews the used one I bought today had lens issues within two hours of testing its features, lol. I’m returning it and not messing with Fuji anytime soon unfortunately
I owned this camera for years. Its great... but i came across the canon s95 and its actually better and smaller . The EXR in the XF1 is great i think fuji made a mistake movin away from it. As for the lens. I bought 5 of these on ebay and only 2 worked. These cams have a couple issues . I always felt the lens would stop workin at any minute
@@AndreiDimaReviews you have to peel the leatherette skin off to open it. Not to mention the cost of the repair. Thats why i just kept lookin for a great small camera and ive had alot over the years . The canon s95 price has doubled in the past month and is still less than the XF1. You should try one
@@AndreiDimaReviews also the s95 has an 28-105 f2 lens that at 35mm is still at f2.5 . The xf1 starts at 25mm f1.8 but by 35mm is at 3.4 which is a big negative. So if you like 35mm like i do this a plus
I really am interested in buying this camera. I really loved how the photos turned out, however the comments says a lot of the negative features about this one 😭 what could be an alternative cam that I should consider purchasing that's really similar to this one in terms of how the photos came out? and i hope it's a budget cam too 😢
I hope fujifilm focus again on compact camera sch as fuji x2o, x30, and x70 with super zoom and good price!! but fuji still focus on expensive camera that is sad, they don't care about hobby photographer people.
This camera takes the same battery as the Fujifilm Real 3D W3 stereo camera, and it's also the same battery used by the entire Pentax Q series, which has its own cult following. For a while I was using the Pentax Q7 very heavily, and the XF1 was a nice, pocketable companion to it.
I bought this camera new back then. It was rarely used. A few years later the camera only takes overexposed pictures because the aperture is stuck. Many other owners receive a “Lens Error” error message due to broken cables in the lens. This camera looks very nice, but the interior design is very poor. If you want to enjoy a camera for a long time, you should definitely not buy it.
Salut!
Dude a few just sold on ebay for almost $600! Wtf I paid $149 new 10 years ago from Amazon! They are now selling for the same prices as the x100 ludicrous!
This camera got me back into photography. Then got me back out when it kept breaking lol. It's very unreliable. Which is why it's expensive there's not many left lol
Seems to be a fair amount of complaints on the XQ1 about back dial failure. I wonder if this camera has same since the design is very similar? The price on Fuji anything has skyrocketed and I would hate to waste money on something that could become irreparable.

Just bought one in mint. Excited to check it out. Current camera is too much of a chore and I like the grainier style of older cameras.
I hope you enjoy it! Open the camera gently so that you don't break the ribbon inside, which is a known issue with this camera.

Thanks Anderia nice comentary, I’m getting one very shortly..
I would skip this one because it has some problems. Better get the X10.
Just bought it. Despite some dramatic comments, knowing the cable can be replaced is of great comfort, in case it breaks.
Yes, some people can fix the problem this camera has. If you open and close it gently, it will last longer.

Yes, it is hard to get one without the broken lens cable. But there are old camera shops that can replace it.

Fujifilm XQ1.
I might buy this one thank to your explanation
Buy this camera only if it had the ribbon cable replaced. It is an issue with this camera, the lens ribbon cable breaks really fast.
Ok 👌🏽 thanks
What do you think about the Fuji XQ1 ?
Did you update the lastest firmware, i heard that they add classic chrome simulation ?

does the xf1 have most the film simulations too?
What recipes did you use on your photos ? Or just edited IN POST ? Just curious as I found one today for a good price and picked it up too !

yes it is. this is amazing camera and hard to get in working order most of them have lens error do you know how to fix it??
The person that sold me the camera replaced the damaged ribbon/cable inside.
go around is to disable stabilization

i extract retract the lens ever so slowly. i hope it will last long. the ribbon cable in the lens is a known issue. but i bought it anyway.
Same here.
Does leaving it standby mode drain the battery at all? I wonder if not retracting the lens totally would benefit the ribbon cable.

wasn't this camera known for having the fujifilm lens control error?
Yes. Read the comments.
how simple is it to get photos from the camera to an iphone?
You need a sd adapter for iPhone.
Ok now i have a second camera to look for either this one or the Unicorn 🦄 of Fuji cameras the X70😂 Great review!!!!
The X70 is so hard to find. Thank you!
If fujifilm made a 16mp 2/3” sensor xtrans 5 camera I would buy day 1.
Are you sure the xtrans5 so superior to the earlier xtrans or even the EXR in the X10?

I have no problems yet. The big problem with this camera is a ribbon inside, if that breaks the lens won't work.
