HBK vs Angle at WM 21 is probably my favorite non title match. The Buildup felt like legit hate and it was a clash of Styles that blended well and made both men look really good with Angle not backing down from HBKs intensity and HBK not giving up to Angles tactics while being locked in the Ankle lock for a Straight minute

The best part was WM 19 was built around that Match compared to their Main Event. Ppl at the time didn't care as Hogan's Nostalgia Act was getting stale but it went from a forced situation to a Violent and really good story driven match

Shawn vs Kurt was a masterclass in wrestling also. Savage vs Warrior is very underrated and told a great story. But I would have definitely added End of an Era to this list also.

Bret actually went into his Mania 13 match as an increasingly whiny and entitled “babyface,” and Austin as an increasingly popular badass “heel.” The Hart/Austin double-turn started building right after the Rumble and by Mania the roles were already reversed, Bret had been getting booed for weeks while Austin was getting cheered. The Mania match was just the capper to a months-long story.

I am at peace with catching heat for this, but I'm not a fan of Bret vs Austin. I've watched it a few times over the years, but it just doesn't do anything for me. And I respect that thematically, it was an important turning point for the entire American wrestling industry, I'm not calling that into question. But to me, the actual wrestling in this wrestling match is kinda boring. It's mostly just a bunch of right hooks, a few powerslams, and then one very long submission hold. Idk, I guess I could see how if you were watching it live and were properly invested in the story there might be something there, but it was a little bit before my time, and watching it back on the network, there's just nothing in there that gets my blood pumping. P.S. Because I'll probably be accused of this if I don't clarify primitively: this isn't a case of "young kid doesn't understand old wrestling." I have several matches in my personal all-time top-10 that predate 1997.
In my opinion the Steve Austin Vs Bret Hart WrestleMania 13 match was the greatest WrestleMania match ever! Going into the match I wasn’t expecting it to be good as it was a submission match something Bret is know for but Austin wasn’t, but boy was I wrong my favourite wrestler came out of that match looking amazing despite losing 10/10
Ohhh man!! I remember that macho ultimate warrior match. I also remember yelling at the TV when Sherry was beating up, macho man and yelling for Miss Elizabeth to get up out of her chair and getting into it when she got into the ring, I just exploded my head exploded.
I want the MITB PLE gone and the matches back on WM. Maybe make them the annual main show night openers and have individual feuds culminate in it as well as the Championship stakes. Could mean making less matches in the card too and maybe 3hr action packed shows with less filler. Certainly beats meaningless Battle Royals if nothing else!

I am at peace with catching heat for this, but I'm not a fan of Bret vs Austin. I've watched it a few times over the years, but it just doesn't do anything for me. And I respect that thematically, it was an important turning point for the entire American wrestling industry, I'm not calling that into question. But to me, the actual wrestling in this wrestling match is kinda boring. It's mostly just a bunch of right hooks, a few powerslams, and then one very long submission hold. Idk, I guess I could see how if you were watching it live and were properly invested in the story there might be something there, but it was a little bit before my time, and watching it back on the network, there's just nothing in there that gets my blood pumping.
P.S. Because I'll probably be accused of this if I don't clarify primitively: this isn't a case of "young kid doesn't understand old wrestling." I have several matches in my personal all-time top-10 that predate 1997.
In my opinion the Steve Austin Vs Bret Hart WrestleMania 13 match was the greatest WrestleMania match ever! Going into the match I wasn’t expecting it to be good as it was a submission match something Bret is know for but Austin wasn’t, but boy was I wrong my favourite wrestler came out of that match looking amazing despite losing 10/10
Ohhh man!! I remember that macho ultimate warrior match. I also remember yelling at the TV when Sherry was beating up, macho man and yelling for Miss Elizabeth to get up out of her chair and getting into it when she got into the ring, I just exploded my head exploded.
I want the MITB PLE gone and the matches back on WM. Maybe make them the annual main show night openers and have individual feuds culminate in it as well as the Championship stakes. Could mean making less matches in the card too and maybe 3hr action packed shows with less filler. Certainly beats meaningless Battle Royals if nothing else!

I may be in the minority but I think the McMahon X7 match wasn't for because the story was awful. A good showing fight wise from 2 non wrestlers but the story is just so bad
I remember that flair vs Michaels match like it was yesterday, my step dad ordered us our first wrestlemania and me snd my older brother had our friend Reggie over snd when I tell you when we saw the im sorry I love you and superkick we started bawling our eyes out thinking it was the last time we would see flair wrestle….
