We tried eating there 2 or 3 times when staying over. Food was terrible every time. They used to be good but unless they start making good food again, I can't say I'd be surprised if they started to die off.
CB is my go-to when I need a decent place to crash. Cute county kitsch and old school candy for the munchies. Clean, quiet, and right by the interstate. The food is pretty good too!
Aloha Matt - Thank you for all that you do for your loyal subscribers. Walking in the cold to give us a tour of your surroundings is always fun….makes me not complain too much about it being 70 degrees in Hawaii and having to put on sweat pants and sweat shirts 🤙 Take care
Just saw your Thanksgiving video. A great hack for getting out of a snowy situation with your van is to have a rolled up carpet and imbed it in front of the tire, 2 is better for each tire that turns, and it will through you out of any snow ruts. Trust me this works...
Glad you took my advice 😊 to check out Cracker Barrel. The restaurant chain is not related to the Cracker Barrel company that makes cheese and stuff (I also made that assumption early on). The restaurant chain is all over the country and I've stayed at many of them when traveling to backpack sections of the Appalachian Trail between Massachusetts and Virginia. Recently I overnighted in my Outback at the one in East Windsor CT while hiking Talcott Mountain and Peoples State Forest. It's off 91, not far from the Mass. border if you're ever down that way and my breakfast waiter, Brendan, loves to talk about hiking! Most Cracker Barrels open at 7:00 for breakfast and close at 9:00 or 10:00. I always call ahead to make sure that specific Cracker Barrel welcomes people to overnight in their vehicles. There were two that said they didn't but all the others were fine. I also use iOverlander for tips on other overnight spots. Their breakfasts 🥞🍳🥓 are good 😋 but I also go to Dunkin' when I don't want a big breakfast 😆. Although Cracker Barrel certainly welcomes your business if you stay overnight, they don't require it at all.
I have to agree the time it takes to get a video up is tough. I'm curious. It seems like I am always saying "I think I'm going stop the videos" but then I get a rush and agree to do another product video. Your thoughts.
Best channel on UA-cam. I thoroughly enjoy your adventures and I don’t know if I have ever heard you ask for viewers to like and subscribe. Many vans have huge mechanical problems while very few deliver consistently without breakdowns. Less technology delivered better results, in soccer mom vans anyway. The 2016 Toyota Sienna for example delivers 400,000 miles without major repairs. As more people choose or are forced into van life please keep them informed of mechanical problems. I always wanted a larger van but honestly the smaller ones blended in so easily everywhere I went. Only one knock on the van in 20 years. Van life is freedom. You’re the man !
thanks! completely agree on the mechanical stuff, just because a vehicle is new from the factory doesn't mean it doesn't have mechanical issues from the get go. That was my experience.
Thank you very much for your video. It's really obvious that you work very hard on your van, and you're working very hard on your channel. Good for you for having the courage to live the way you want to live. I subscribed so I can be a support to you in that way. 😊
Cracker Barrel portions of relatively healthy food are reasonably large - 😊 - like large enough to ask for a take-with container, which helps mitigate the higher price than (unhealthy) fast food places.
You probably already know the other Cracker Barrel in MA is in Sturbridge right at the 84/90 intersection. There is also a cracker barrel right off of I-91 in East Windsor, CT about 10 miles south of Springfield.
Their food is pretty good, maybe pricey$$$, and the store is full of souvenirs.👍🏻 you should consider getting your mailbox in Boston since it’s closer I can’t imagine the amount of time and gas you waste driving back-and-forth. ❤
Bro, cracker barrels are the best! I use the one in Londonderry 2 - 3 times a week. No hassle staying there. And if you want a good meal very reasonably priced their food is awesome especially their breakfasts.
Cracker Barrel cheese is not the same as the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain: Kraft Foods has sold Cracker Barrel cheese since 1954, while the first Cracker Barrel restaurant opened in 1969. Different owners!
And the CB in Holyoke is right across from the Mall at Ingleside too and where I91 meets the Mass Pike. I91 gives you all sorts of north/south options.
I have a 2021 Ford Transit and it has a button on the dashboard to disable the auto start - stop. I was surprised that not all vans come with this button.
Hey bro, I just started watching your videos a couple of weeks ago . Really enjoy them. Hey, cracker barrel was a restaurant first the started selling their goods in stores.
Hi Matt, So not sure if u would ever consider parking in Plymouth and take? bus train to Boston, .Unlimited Free Parking: You can park for free for as long as you like in the Jenny Pond parking lot (Spring Lane) located off Summer Street and at the Water Street free lots located at 234-236 Water Street near Nelson Park. Park and Ride lot. Hope ur staying warm.
I'm your neighbor to the north. Don't think NH has any Cracker Barrels. The Hooksett rest area is nice. I don't live in my car but sometimes I need to sleep in it.
Nice video! Your van is the bomb! We have Cracker Barrels in Texas! They have very good, homestyle food and the things they sell can be fun. I have always appreciated the service at the one's I have been to here. Their breakfasts are really good! Large portions and decent food. Happy trails!
Portions of relatively healthy food are reasonably large - like large enough to ask for a take-with container 😊 which helps mitigate the higher price than (unhealthy) fast food places.
So there is a Cracker Barrel near where I I used to live and still frequent the area often and always assumed it was just a restaurant. It actually looks like I place I need to go now because they seem to have a bunch of things I would never need but that I wouldn't be able to say no to if once I walked in
I agree with you about I-90 being the worst road to drive on but a close second is I-495 from west Boston to the New Hampshire line. I drove that route pulling my 30 ft travel trailer from Ct to Maine this past summer and i don’t think i ever saw so much truck traffic as i did on that trip. It took me almost 4 hours to get from New Hampshire to I-84 on our way home . Worst traffic ever.
I was next to a Cracker Barrel this past week in SC. If you go in before 4PM, you can get a dinner for less than $10 if you don't buy a $4 soda. 😀Do takeaway if you don't want to tip. Thankfully, you fixed that stop-start thing on your van. I would think it would cause unnecessary wear on the engine, also.
My best friend from my long lost hippie period lived in Framingham and I visited him in 1997. When he was 17 he got his girlfriend pregnant the first time they both ever had sex and he took a powder, leaving her to raise the kid alone. About 20 years later he repented, married the girl, and was a grandfather by the age of 40. He was tardy, but he did the right thing. Then he decided he was a woman in his mid-50's and basically ended up killing himself at 69 last year. Pretty tragic, but what I remember is how densely populated Framingham was, even compared to the Chicago suburbs where we both grew up.
What do you do about companies or whatever that ask you for your " physical address"? Is there anything I can do about signing up or whatever for a phy add?
Think about joining Harvest Host, you will get free safe places to stay, we finally have a few on Long Island now, i find a lot of nice places that way
California is aggressively anti-van life, as is Florida and other states. Which is why I generally avoid Walmarts, the ones that allow it get fewer every year.

Cracker Barrell sells Thanksgiving Dinner every Thursday. It's around 10 bucks and very tasty! We have them here in southern Georgia.
I love the videos, Brother! You are really exceptional at communicating your daily grind. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe out there!

Great breakfast at Cracker Barrel! (I don’t think they’re connected to the cheese brand)

Cracker barrel has pretty good food. It's a little pricy but good.
Cracker Barrel is a good breakfast place. I always get their pecan pancakes. Their coffee is good too nice aroma.

My friend Lady Bunny is performing in Boston Monday night (9th) and she is hilarious!! I think the tickets are 30 bucks or something around there.
