Justin, instead of waiting for things to get better, get to work where you are now! You got skills dude! Don't feel sorry for yourself, pull yourself up by your boot straps & get to work... even if it's small jobs, when you're working & showing ambition plus hard work (like you're brother did) you won't have time to think about depression & anxiety And, you will make it too, & become successful!... We're all rootin for you, but at the end of the day It is up to you bro!
success is all relative, def just strive for happiness-stability, we're with you in the good times and the bad thank you for sharing the story brother, random jobs and mobile mechanicin for the win
Justin, been watching you for what’s gotta be almost a decade now. You have to pick something and commit to it, and make it work. Keep working it, and it’ll pay off just like it did before. If you keep jumping around, you’re just going to bury yourself. I don’t know anything about Yucca Valley but I do live in California, if the economy is as stagnant there as you suggest it is then for the betterment of your kids, move them to a healthier life somewhere else. Struggling isn’t a lifestyle, give them the best opportunity for their adulthood and set an example. If that’s in Yucca, then pick a foundation and build on it. If it’s in Oregon, do the same. Everybody has to be on board, at the same time, everybody is going to thrive together or survive together. There is an obvious choice there. Figure out what is best, not what is the easiest. You had so much heart before life beat you down. Find that guy again, don’t let any anchor hold you back. Pick it the fuck up and carry it. Be a leader to your family, man. They’re always watching. Time to commit somewhere and get it done, show those kids how to change their life and not let it keep you in comfortable poverty.
Bro. We love you. But listen. How on earth is the plan for you to get a job and not at least try to work it for a few weeks? How is the plan get the job, never start the job, but still for some reason stay on an unemployed vacation away from family for weeks? Not making sense bro.
He wants to continue leaving it as a super duper back up plan in his head for when he gets back to Cali and can't get work.. He'll be sitting there unemployed without the funds to start the mobile mechanic gig, like, well I always could go back up to Oregon and bum it with some family and friends. Meanwhile some of those opportunities dry up eventually.
dude, you should consider staying in Oregon a short time by yourself and stack some cash before going back to the valley. This would at least give you some cushion to work with and hopefully get a start at the mobile gig As an old timer told me in my youth, "Son, nobody will be there to rescue you, you got to have intestinal fortitude to make it on your own" No hate bro, just hate seeing you down and out, cast about like a boat in the ocean. You are missing out on so many opportunities in Oregon by not staying there.
Fr.. dude is making a huge mistake, but there's no point in reasoning with him. He's basically a 22 year old female, tell him the reality of the situation and he'll go chase a fantasy.
How is he going to save money? Is he trying to find work five days a week? Why don’t his friends or brother with companies offering him a steady job? Two years ago he was going to get a job with HF. Then the police. Then… etc.
Let this be a lesson young men. Specialize in a trade, make connections and NEVER sell the tools of your trade. Even if you do a career switch. Otherwise youll wind up with 500 side hustlez and no real long term credibility or stability.
Two rules for tradesman to live by 1. Never sell the tools of your trade. They are your livelihood to make you money when times are tough 2 See Rule number 1
I'm 46. I worked for a company for 18yrs that closed its doors the winter of '23. I felt lost. I'd been there so long and it was a small 5 man business. I wasn't sure what life had in-store for me next. I ran out my unemployment and picked up a job at a local factory and I'll tell you it's done me good. My credit score is high, got dollars being stacked, and bought a new car. It's out there man and you'll find it.
Either he doesn’t want a steady job working somewhere, or he feels he can have his own company. I get it, I had two over the years. But he just isn’t steady. He flits from one thing to the other. He finds excuses for everything. It’s unfortunate. He just has to get “A” job and stick to it. Even if he’s not happy.
You need to get out of your bubble meet. People meet business people get out of the bubble. You are in, it doesn't work for you. It's been this way for the last. How many years 10 years since you had this UA-cam thing going? You need to be around more positive.People lose the attitude of where your at. Go out different areas and meet new people suck it up and it will work.
You could run your own business in oregon no problem. I work for a small upholstery business outside of salem. It's just me and the owner and where as busy as we want to be
Some times you could know various trades, witch is good. But at the end of the day is: "It's not what you know, but who you know ". Or when preparation meets opportunity ". That's when shit happens.
7:01 dude stop. Just stop. If youre gonna do the mobile mechanic thing. Do that. Stop trying to branch out into construction and making all of these avenues a "maybe, why not?". You are not 25 anymore to be a spaz about what trade work you want to pursue. You are a mechanic with an associates degree and a decade of experience, with a youtube channel that follows you for your mechanic topics.. Zero in on what you've already speclialized in. Most of us blue collar guys have our feet wet in mutiple areas, even being self employed or side hustling, but most of us by age 40 have ONE trade that weve specialized in and call our home. Being a jack of all trades constantly is spinning in circles and living in your 20s... FOCUS, do small engine work if you have to, but focus on doing mechanic work. STOP being a spaz it shows you have no real confidence and you should, youre a mechanic dudez accept it and start exceling..
go apply at davies auto care in cathedral city. it lists a signing bonus maybe you'd get half up front to pay for your gas until your first check rolls in. it's only 40 minutes away and no weekends. that's nothing. theyre hiring.
❤Justin you never said you have a son in organ? Do you guys speak often? You say its hard to leave ur daughter in cali but you left him in organ you done it once?
I'm not here to condemn anyone. I respect a person that keeps trying and explores new options to try to find happiness. Reconnecting with friends and family and getting away are great things for all of us to experience. Unfortunately the older most of us get the less options we have. Most employers want younger employees that they feel they can develop/mold easier to their ways of doing things, along with being more tech savvy, with lower healthcare costs. They are often wrong as older workers tend to be more dependable and dedicated and don't jump ship every year or two for a better opportunity/more money. However that is a reality in our culture. Justin you are fortunate enough to have a marketable skill as an auto technician, you are still able to perform the duties of the trade and might as well continue focusing on and developing that skill. With your channel of over 40,000 subs you likely will have manufacturers offering you tools to test etc. that you can keep to build back your collection. Hope this doesn't come across preachy just an observation/suggestion if I may be so bold. The other interests/explorations can be hobbies that may pan out to something more. However the focus and developing as an auto tech and retaining those skills will likely always put food on the table and ensure the bills are paid. Regarding the depression you may want to discuss that with a professional and explore treatment options. Always enjoy and respect your honest vids and wishing you and yours the best.
justin, sometimes when the time isnt right....is the perfect time. life isnt going to give you a perfect time, YOU have to make the time work. i think you need to get out of the desert and get somewhere where jobs are plentiful along with opportunities. if things are going good now, keep it going. get....out....of.....the desert.

I'm here along for the ride Justin. I haven't made the best career decisions in my life so I won't tell you what to do or even give advice. It will be interesting to follow you and see where you'll wind up. Cheers
