Norris Yard was surely active this morning. I didn't see the Yard Switcher, but a outbound freight was moving away, then this was reversing into the yard into a yard track. After the Test, a UP Freight was inbound about 8 minutes later.
Old high quality sirens like the Thunderbolt will do this too. But only after 30+ years of service. The modern sirens of today probably won't last even 40 years, yet there's 80-100 year old sirens still working more or less as good as they did when they were brand new.
Considering this was installed in early 2017, and replaced a 1000AT 5/6 with a Seized Rotator. Only 5 Years of use? Yeah. Maintenance Free. Gift from Advanced Motors and Drives Motors.
@@grimatronicpl7163 It's not on a lower Chopper level because if it were on a lower Chopper level it would be sounding like Cincinnati type stuff, I've seen photos of the RCM1 and it's still on Chopper level 5. I would know it's the brushes causing it because though it may not fluctuate all that often it's got that very rough sound when half way through the windup it stops at a certain pitch, I even talked to the West Shore Services employee who fixed the blower and the FC controller in 2020 and there were no voltage changes, chopper level was the same, and everything with the RCM1 and the Siratrol boxes are working correctly including the blower. He even said it himself that it's brushes as well and that one day he's gonna have to go up there and replace the brushes before it gets any worse.
@@EastDetroitMusic-Sirens3000A no its defynetly not brushes the power output might have been changed to little lower pitch doesnt fluctuate on it and i didnt notice the stoping Point in pitch So im certain of it
Love the locomotives heard in the background from the NS yard there, lol.
Great video!

Federal signal is a shell of its former self
Reminds me of a T-128/T-135 kinda. Hope it gets fixed soon, and keep up the good work!
Jefferson County EMA is already aware, and doing repairs. I'll see how it sounds in a couple of months down the road.
Yet the STL sounds fantastic
Sounded sorta like an Equinox 0:39 - 0:54
Good lord, I remember when one of the 130s here sounded like that.
Yeah, I remember seeing the thunderbolt at this place when I was little.
Not thunderbolt it's a 2001
@@averyrocks026 There used to be a thunderbolt next to it.
Great video! Sounds great!
You can tell that the brushes are shot by how long it takes to wind down
Holy heck, you just cant trust modern sirens these days

I wonder how there are no videos of failure E57's. What are those Germans hiding from us
Why am I starting to see alot of videos of sick 2001-130s. I thought they were supposed to be one of the most maintenance free sirens made.

Federal's quality control went down the shitter years ago
Awesome! Funny sounding, but a great sound nonetheless.
Thanks!
Probably the Grosse Pointe Woods Thunderbolt 1000T in the next couple of years if it ain't fixed any time soon, other than that uh. Sound great 😂
What’s works with Grosse Pointe Woods? The last video I saw it sounded fine
@@SirenGirl2001 the pitch on it dropped 9 years ago because of bad brushes and hasn’t been fixed since then.
@@EastDetroitMusic-Sirens3000A those where not brushes lol it is a lower chopper level it doesnt sound any sick
