    Most parents don't realize that right now their child is learning on computers/tablets. Yes there's teachers in the classroom but since covid they've become more like babysitters. It was really ridiculous and most students were straggling. My son was in honors but he wasn't learning due to the students struggling with the computer programs. There was many other issues, so we decided to go back to homeschooling. This way of learning is a lot like the homeschooling called acellus. He started 8th grade at the end of September and will be done in a few weeks. So he'll be starting the 9th grade in February. He is only on for a few hrs instead of the long school day and is learning more. Especially history and science which schools have cut down a lot. Very happy with this program and so glad more of these choices are becoming available. Instead of the failing school programs we have now!!

    If you take away the cell phones and make students accountable for completing written homework and passing tests to receive the grade they earn instead of teachers being told to fake their grades, you will see a big improvement in learning and achievement outcomes. As it stands, students see no reason to remember anything, and don’t put in the effort to memorize facts or methods. They remain incompetent and ignorant and don’t develop intellectual curiosity. It’s like 50 First Dates - every day is the same with all prior knowledge erased. Look beyond the classroom to find the dysfunction. The current model is terrible but AI is not a panacea. It’s the lazy choice for overcoming bad parenting. All this being said, it does seem inevitable that AI will take over and we will regret it mightily. The AI we will get is not the tutor we hope for. I hope I’m wrong.

    I don’t want dedicated teachers to loose their job but I’m concerned that many teachers are teaching inappropriate things and talking about their personal lives. And one teacher even asks her γoung students, which genժer they are, every day.

    The black ppl on this show are the type of black ppl I want to see a lot more of across social media, not those like Joy Reid and Roland Martin. The black ppl on this show were professional, well-informed, universally positive, expressed sound reasoning, and were unfocused on change through racial considerations and preferential treatment as guided by hyperbolic accusations and a driven desire to express victimhood, blame, and hate. These guests were a breath of fresh air to me. So, I got to enjoy a topic of high interest to me without it being marred by divisive ppl. What a nicely done show by Dr. Phil as are many of his podcasts.

The Alpha School is setting an example for a good, viable alternative for the future of teaching and learning in an in-person school setting and can provide insight into additional ways of educating children in the classroom.

    As a teacher, who left the system to support the needs of my children at home, AI should be used in the classroom. All teachers have a toolbox of tips, tricks, and techniques that can be used in any number of combinations to reach our students. AI is just another tool that could be used. I prefer not to use AI to the degree the school showed here.

    Im against this. Who is deciding what the AI says? Who are the programmers that teach the AI? What is the security that protects it from hackers? What stops the AI from bringing up non-academic or controversial topics that parents wouldn't support? Im concerned that AI could literally turn into what corporate news is right now and cause irreversible damage under certain circumstances.
    Also, the more jobs we give to AI without a REAL solution for forced unemployment of an entire job title for humans, the less spending power the middle will have. This really feels like alot of people in the economy will take a hit.

    Why go to school then. Do online! Take this to an inner city school and tell us how it works. What if a shooter comes in? Are the AI going to protect your child? Dr. Phil if school is geared to the least how come special needs students struggle every day? We are trained to give our lives for our students. We are taught the 4 C's. What isn't being done is students aren't being taught to follow rules and to have respect for others!

  • @AmberAnderson-i5h

    I support this. That child is well spoken and well educated. The girl that was put on probation and accused of using AI to write her paper is exactly why education with human teachers is so flawed. It is also why and how teachers are going to put themselves out of employment completely. This is the exact scenario that is going to cause AI to completely take over. Which is why I don't feel bad for humanity, humanity does it to themselves.
    I completely agree with Dr. Phil, AI will not end humanity and ONLY humanity will be the cause of its own destruction. Humans have to learn and then practice being accountable. Don't blame AI, AI was created by humans that were influenced and taught by other humans. Period.
    Plus, if you educated millennials appropriately in America and Canada from the very beginning by not causing a divide with race, financial status, superficiality, etc., in society, you wouldn't be seeing such a shortage of educators, medical professionals, etc. Humanity caused this and you can have your opinion all you want. But, when the economy completely collapses, your opinion is not going to get you anywhere. Those who are in poverty, homeless and have been in survival mode for a long time are going to the people that come out on the other side of it all. They already know how to survive a flawed, discriminatory and collapsed society.

    The big red flag with this, is that it will teach bias (already being done) not actual truth about History etc. There are many poor households, many disadvantaged of every color, but it will twist it and teach that its only blacks that suffer? As I type this, I am white, destitute, and older. I recieved no special considerations. "Skin for skin" the bible says. We need to work together for EVERY COLOR, not just your own color(s). None of this is AI.......AI is being confused with script writing and programming by humans. True AI writes its own code and learns on its own without ANY human interaction whatsoever

    • @LlewAdal
      @LlewAdal 20 годин тому

      AI is not just writing it's own code. There are currently at least 3 versions of AI today. 1) Narrow AI - These are the AI's that have a narrow focus like playing Chess. All they know is how to play Chess. They do not know how to drive a Car or write their own Code. 2) AGI or General AI - This is where the line blurs between the AI that is a Chess Player and one that can do many other things and at a Ph.D. or better level of all the topics it learned. It can drive a car as well as Play Chess. 3) ASI or Artificial Super Intelligence - Writing it's own Code will open the door for an AGI to become ASI because the upgrade of the AGI Software will be so fast and continuous, that it will almost be instantaneous as the upgrades happens in microseconds. We call this point the "Singularity".
      According to OpenAI's Sam Altman, we are getting to a point where he believes we will achieve ASI in less than a decade.
