Thanks for the video!! These are magnificent Buddhism arts of 1500 to 1600 years old, a World Heritage site, located in north China's Datong City, Shanxi Province (山西省大同市) 300km west of Beijing.
be polite don't be fool Your imagination or ignorance is astonishing. It might sound similar but the name Shanxi has nothing to do with India. Shan means mountain, Xi means west. Btw there’s another province named Shandong, which means mountain east. None of those provinces has strong culture of Buddhism either.
I watch all of your videos, and agree with Haron Wouters, your videos should have hundreds of thousands of views. The only thing I can think is that you are so prolific, people just don't have the time to watch all your awesome videos. That doesn't stop me. I watch them all on my 4K large screen and love them all. I just came back from a trip to China but didn't get to see the mainland, I was on an island doing a 4K film project. And all these new China videos make me realize I need to go back and spend a month on the mainland. Thanks for all your hard work. Your vids inspires me.
+TJ Sheridan Thank you TJ. Thank you for the really nice words! I am not sure about my channel but I checked yours and it surprised me with the great aerial videos from Utah, they really hooked me up! Some of them were done before the drone era, but are more interesting and dynamic! Good luck with your next projects!
Thanks! Yeah, I got into drones very early, before they were all the rage. Now it's completely out of control, and the FAA regulations are sucking the fun out of it. If you're ever in the area, be sure to let me know. We're kindred spirits, and that reason enough to get together for a dinner or something. Cheers! -TJ
TJ Sheridan Nothing firm yet. Would love to do Southern India in the winter, and maybe in May Iran. Crater Lake and some places in Oregon are a must too. Still thinking...
Thank you, glad to hear that:) The pure enjoyment of the beauty of nature and the best human creations is one of the best things you can get from life!
Can you imagine people trying to carve those sculptures. Very nice. The architecture at 1:33 of the building is outstanding, amazing. The amount of detail at 2:08 into those rocks is beautiful. Nice video, thank you. :)
What an amazing place another brilliant job in filming and editing of the video have a great 2016 looking forward to viewing more wonderful places in the coming year.
Truly marvellous grottoes with a huge lot of internal sculptures, rounded and in bas reliefs. Westerners don't seem to flock such a place, as also Longmen, and the reasons are not clear. In India, we have Ajanta Caves, in Central India, somewhat like these Yungang Grottoes, but Westerners go to see Taj Mahal near Delhi, which is nothing but a piling up of marble blocks!
What a marvelous site! One wonders if the carvings were begun at the ceilings and worked down toward ground level, or vice-versa. Thank goodness for the preservationists among us, and for your excellent videographic skills. It’s such a pleasure to follow your travels.
I think First they might have dug out the crude shape of the rooms. Then the images are done probably small images top to bottom after the main images are carved
+Ki-Sha Daimyo Thank you, Ki-Sha! Have a wonderful weekend! All the best for 2016 to you as well, but before that hope to release couple more videos :)
A.P.O.P. interesting video. I would like to see the same treatment for the Magao Grottoes, Dunhuang, Gansu Province of China. There isn't a lot of amateur video about it, seems to be mostly documentaries and news programs.
There was a representatve of a company, waiting in the morning at the train station, and they arrange van for transportation, the price was very decent.
You can find the same even more better sculptures of buddha in ajanta caves of India 🇮🇳. India and China are 2 different powers divided by culture, race, traditions, languages, landscapes but united by history and buddha.
