John Paul is unhappy because Craig tells him about the change to his summer plans. He also panics when Craig tells him that he knows about him and Hannah sleeping together because he wants Craig to think that he's available to him (even at this stage, ideationally, he doesn't want to seem like he's "cheating" on Craig). So he takes all of that out on Hannah. It is brutal but a predictably consequence of bottling up one's true feelings. I also like the touch of that Josh song in the background of the scene with just Craig and John Paul in Hannah's living room. It introduces the parallelism between the Amy/Josh and Craig/John Paul scenes in the garden the next day.
I just don't know who I feel more sorry for. Hannah, the girl who's in love with a gay guy, or JP, the guy who's in love with his straight best friend.
Feel so sorry for JP right now, I know what he is going through, and it's not pretty. Hannah is so cute and outgoing, she can get anyone she wants, on the other hand, JP is coming to reality with his sexuality and is a mess, and there are not a lot of guys out there for him at the moment. He is intellegent enough, maybe he can bury himself in school work, and not dwell on his sexual angst.......no not really.
Jp should have stopped Hannah the previous night itself. he messed around real bad with the poor girl's feelings. she is so madly in love with him. i understand Jp is trying to make sense of his feelings but i m angry at him for doing wat he did to Hannah
