@@ChelseyLinden YES!!!!!! A double wedding and have it in June during Pride month. But like legit these are currently two of my fave LGBTQ couples on the main 4 soaps at the moment. Peri and Juliet ate just cute and adorable and Ste and James I am just obsessed with. Like on paper they should not work at all but when together it just makes perfect sense. They are drawn to each other. THIS is what the queer community talks about when we say we want visibility and representation. We want those beautiful fairytale rom com love declaration moments. Those dramatic and romantic proposals. Those moments of declaring your feelings truthfully and boldly to a crowded room. Often all we get is tragedy and trauma. I just want queer joy. Pure unabashed joy. Its moments like these that are just that. Joy. Love. Beauty. Queer people deserve that too.

Being a queer woman who lived through a world that was only just throwing off the shadows of the AIDS crisis and Section 28 I have clung to moments of queer joy. Every pride parade, every time a country legalises sex sex marriage or decriminalises homosexuality. Every time I see a queer couple in the celeb world either go public or get wngaged or get married. And every time I see positive and happy and joyful queer representation and moment in the media. Queer lives are always going to be tinged in some kind of sadness but that isn't all we are or all we have. We are messy and chaotic just like everyone else and we love and feel and celebrate just as hard as everyone else. Trust me if you have ever been toa Pride event us gays can party hard. For so long society tries to other us and keep us seperate from everyone else. We can't be the leads in the rom coms. We can't be the ones writing the soppy love songs. So when I see moments like this on Hollyoaks where queer people are having that Hollywood rom com moment like you see in the movies where they are trying to win their lover back with some mad bold declaration if front of loads of people at a very public event it just makes me smile so wide. After being starved of representation and visibility in the media for decades moment like this are what we want. We dont want endless trauma or tragedy or uncountable coming out stories. We just want love and joy and happiness. We want our love to count and to matter and to be celebrated.

Okay, this is so wrong on so many levels. 1. James tried to send Ste to prison for a murder he knew he didn't commit as his solicitor. 2. James seduced Harry with money and got him into prostitution. Turning him into a darker version that led him to cheat on Ste. 3. James dated and was engaged to John Paul and made him think Ste was in the boot of the car and pushed it off a cliff all because John Paul had cheated on him with Ste. 4. Ste needs someone new or maybe a better chance with John Paul. Sinead and then Harry ruined their shot at makimg it work. They have more in common than crooked James. Guess everyone gets a turn to date or marry Ste. He dated the abusive Brendan. My personal favorite was him with Doug. At the time, he and PJ Brennan, who played Doug, looked so cute together. They should have had the newest arrival son of Tony be gay and get with Ste.
