Although I am normally a great fan and advocate of this almost extinct form of the English language as seen in the writings of so many authors of this era - I have to confess for the roughly half of this piece that I listened to (until I finally bailed about halfway through) …I was utterly confused and bewildered. Try as I might, I could not follow the story even to the point of giving someone else the broadest of summaries. I literally had no idea of what was going on. It was as if the whole thing was written and read in some language that I don’t speak. It made me feel really stupid, so I abandoned it; but I also felt strongly compelled to confess it.

I'm glad you warned me..I read and reread the description so I was prepared. It was pretty thick owing to the critic being sort of one of those sickening pseudointellectuals we still have today. It was made more difficult to me with the publication the critic and his friends wrote for was called 'The Middle'. So when 'he tore the middle from her grasp' , I said 'huh??' out loud.
Tony, I think you did well, considering this was probably the most difficult story, ever!
