Plus size girl here, Thank you for making these videos. I admire you being so brave to get in front of the camera and help other plus size people as well. I"ve heard of the nightmares for plus size people trying to go to Universal and that's why I stay at Disney since it's better options.
I appreciate what you’re doing and was just at Universal and did the test seat for forbidden journey and even though I got the green light outside I was sure if the bar would close all the way and decide not ride
I really appreciate your work. I have a friend I love to travel with, and I don’t want her to be in situations where her body type is being discriminated against or a ride that causes her physical pain due to design. Great work! Enjoyed just going around the park with you in this vid.
Thank you. I would highly recommend taking your friend to Disney World. They will probably have a great time there. It is very friendly. I do have some videos up about it.
Hi Jason, I’m Vincenzo from Italy and I also make video about plus size friendly rides. Consider yourself lucky about the outside testing seats in US. In Europe is very uncommon and most of the times you must go through all the line to discover if you can fit or not. In Disneyland Paris 150mins line in Crush Coaster to discover I don’t fit in here! They gave me a free premier access ticket to another ride. Nice work, keep going, I know many of us out of shape struggling with the scare of not fitting on a ride and we help them a lot. 🎠💚
I am 5'9" 380# my exp with Minions is that the bench bar just comes down and felt like it was chopping my gut off but it did work. and they have other non secured seats off to the side. for Mummy the seat in the back car closest to the load area is "slightly more forgiving" I had the walk of shame but I honestly felt I fit :(
If you watch my video on what will ruin your vacation setting your expectation is the number one thing that you can control and make for a better trip. ua-cam.com/video/fgX8ph7Ue5g/v-deo.html

Minions, there are non-moving bench seats. Now I was there last October 2021 and I couldn't board the Mummy and Gringotts rides despite the test seats saying I barely can and telling the operators which row I was told to sit in but the safety bar wouldn't lock and had to leave the ride
I want to thank you so, so much for this channel. I have broken down in tears too many times not being able to fit on rides. Knotts Berry Farm was even worse than Universal. I don't know if this is emotionally hard for you, but if it is, thank you so much for putting yourself through this for the benefit of everyone who is plus size.
I would hope the feeling of shame would be enough to change… evidently not… seeing the butter golems and ham planets of the world being unable to enjoy fun things in life makes me happy because you’re an aberration and if it weren’t for modern amenities your kind would have been weeded out of the gene pool. Feel shame
This is so detailed and just a great video all together. Thank you so much for posting. It’s truly sad to me that a park as big as universal is would consider there are some bigger bodies that want to enjoy the full experience. I would be questioning if I want to even spend money to go to this park after viewing this video. Fat phobia is all I see in this park.
I don’t think it’s fat phobia. I just think it is generally not making it a top of mind issue. Disney definitely does and I think they could adopt some of the universal rides to have a certain seat in the back much like they did with Tron.
I went to universal last year and I enjoyed islands of adventure way more as more rides were plus size friendly. I was able to do all the water ride attractions plus I snugged myself into the hagrids ride in Harry Potter world. I didn’t bother trying all the roller coasters but I do feel like there’s a lot more to do at island of adventure and if a plus size person read this review and didn’t know which park to choose I’d tell them Island of adventure is the way to go.
I’m going to Orlando a week from today and have never been to any theme parks there. I’m taking with me my 9yr old daughter (single mom here), and I’ve been so nervous since planning this trip which rides I’d be able to fit in because I’ve not fit rides before at fairs and other theme parks and had to get off the ride and do the “walk of shame” where everyone stares at you and some whisper. It’s the most horrible feeling when you’re trying to put yourself out there physically and be a “normal person,” wanting to enjoy a theme park and paying tons of money for these theme parks/rides and you’re humiliated publicly. Yesterday, I was given the opportunity to go to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN with my daughter for her 9th bday. 2 employees blessed us with free tickets that we were thrilled to use. I only tried to go on 1 roller coaster (I didn’t notice the test seat outside the ride because I was distracted, which could’ve saved some awkwardness) and I had to take my daughter and leave the ride because she was afraid to ride her first roller coaster alone without me. It really put a damper on the whole experience when I couldn’t fit in the ride but I just tried to push it aside and keep on keepin’ on and put on a happy face. We WERE able to ride this river rafting ride 5x together though and they had seat belt extensions and it wasn’t restrictive for my body size really at all. They even gave me a handicap accessible pass to skip the long lines and stairs if I wanted to try out other roller coasters throughout the park. I chose not to, but instead to find rides that she wasn’t afraid to do alone so that we didn’t waste time going through the park being turned away from rides one after another all day. There’s a legit old school coal operated train 🚂 that we were able to enjoy that takes you around the whole park and it has bench seats. And we went to the “Country Fair” area of Dollywood that has kids rides, bumper cars, and original carnival/fair type rides like the scrambler (which I very barely fit into, and it wasn’t comfortable, it was hurting my thighs once we got the door latched on the bucket of the ride), and then my kiddo went on the swings and a couple other traditional fair rides by herself several times and I just used that as a break to sit and rest my feet and take vids and pics of her on the rides. We didn’t even make it through the whole park because she had so much fun in that area. And that was ok. But today I’m researching online (hence how I found your UA-cam today), and trying to figure out what I’m in for in Orlando next weekend because yesterday was so awkward and had I paid for the passes- I wouldn’t have been happy about not fitting on the roller coasters w/ the cost of admission. 🎢 And I would’ve tried to find at least one that I could’ve ridden on. I’m glad my daughter had a blast and I tried to push my own feelings aside and just let her shine and be a kid. I was secretly glad that she loved getting wet on the rafting ride so we could be together on a ride over and over. ❤
Thank you I’m gonna try to go back when it’s not a holiday. That was a massive mistake on my part. Plus I will be living in Orlando soon and can take it over a few days instead of trying to do it all quickly.
@@fattestedtravel It was such a neat place back in the early 90s. Still fun to go and get some food and they’ve got a few rides that are fun. However, they are taking away the best ride “fire in the hole” which was fat tested by me lol. I’m not sure what they’re putting in its place.

It's not "discrimination". Humans aren't meant to get to that size. So the world isn't designed for people who throughout history, have barely existed
