I don't know why everyone is assuming that Jonathon Nolan is talking about a Bale Batman sequel. I think he wants to do his own version. Chris Nolan got all the credit for his Batman trilogy. Maybe Jonathon wants his shot at getting the acclaim by writing and directing his own Batman films. He's moved into directing more so he could handle both roles so the project would be his and only his this time around. It would be years before we would even get the possibility of seeing it though. Gunn has his idea of Batman already so it wouldn't be a DCU Batman. The only other option is to do a separate Batman series which means it would have to be after Pattinson is done because there's just not room for more Batman films right now. Maybe someday Jonathon will get his chance though.
I concur. His statements never read like he meant reuniting with Christopher or Christian, simply that he'd be up for returning to the property. Even if the Batman Trilogy is largely credited to C. Nolan and their writing is considered joint, Jonathan's writing pedigree speaks for itself with the projects he's taken afterward doing well (some) and being highly praised. I'm sure he'd be down for writing and/or directing in the DCU on a non-Batman property, but to market himself citing the trilogy gets himself more heard.

Hey Coy, I am just now getting to the lead up to time runs out. I remember there being a story of Thor where it’s 3 different timelines and 3 thors fighting but no one can remember because of rules and what not. Do you think that would be a good idea in a movie? But in a more serious tone like you guys mentioned
It could work for that tone but rarely do multiple actors playing same role feel … not like a gimmick (some exceptions obviously) plenty of serious Thor out there!

Changing the name from thunderbolts* to dark avengers doesn't really move the needle for me but the beef director and beef writer being involved does, that is why I'm interested in this movie (shame about yuen though). Also that pedro thing was never confirmed by the way so merely hearsay.
I appreciate how you let Winston and Coy ramble for a few minutes in the beginning.
As for Thor L&T, I must say it was the worst MCU/CB movie I've watched by far, I'm glad Hemsworth is self-aware and here's hoping Feige get a grip and hire a director with strong vision.

I have 2 Deadpool & Wolverine theories.
1. Most of the cameos show up as a team up montage before the big final fight, then DP and Wolverine jump through a portal and everyone else gets cut off and never seen again. (Like setting up X Force in DP2 or all the guns in DP1)
2. Wade and Vanessa get married at the end and most of the cameos are at the wedding.
Im not gonna lie i think shawn Levy if he dont direct avengers he should do the x men movies hes so good with ensemble movie films like free guy now Deadpool and wolverine and cheaper by the dozen as well as stranger things i think hed be the best pick
The only thing that has me hung up on the possible title change is......I totally get the idea that the "Avengers" name is more marketable, more power to them, but that also lends exactly to my point......why are we (Marvel Studios) still calling this "Thunderbolts*" and Kevin Feige doing that presentation in Vegas saying "we'll know what the asterisk means AFTER we've seen the movie".....meaning they have all intensive purposes in advertising; selling merch, selling tickets etc. As it being called "Thunderbolts*"!? If that's what they want, they need to change the title to "Dark Avengers" now to line up with all the promo and press
They should have Beau DeMayo handpicked the Xmen director with Feige. At least someone who loves and knows the Xmen comics. None of these dont know the comics type directors that we seen in Phase 4 films

TDK trilogy is special because it has a definitive beginning, middle and ending. That is so refreshing, especially for a superhero property. I don't think it should be revisited. However, if Gunn's first 3 DCU movies are failures ( i hope they are not but I'm not confident) then WB will get desperate and who knows what could happen.

I love this channel but the one thing I hate is how you’re never caught up on shows. I know it’s unrealistic of me to expect you to keep up with everything, given you are a young dad, and have so much going on. Xmen 97 is beyond perfect, i really dont care if Beau De Mayo is the kind of boss that yells at people, as long as there is no sexual assault issues i think disney needs to rehire him to give us more 97 and more importantly lead the creative team for xmen mcu.

Multiverse of Madness is quite literally one of the very few bright spots of the post-Endgame MCU. And it’s a **VERY** bright spot. What is even going on here?
It's little too late for another Thor movie since Taika isn't the only one to blame for comedic direction with Ragnarok and Love and Thunder. Deadpool and Wolverine reshoots has me a little concered being this close to the movie arriving in theathers. Jonathan Nolan should come back without his brother and write a script for Batman The Brave and the Bold. I'm with Winston I want to know why he was fired. What did he do?

I guess the cameos are going to be a spoof on the Endgame final battle. Where characters just keep coming and coming and the fight just falls apart

Unless what Beau did is horrendous, I think his hat should be thrown in to direct the X-men movie!!!
A few things I'd caution are these:
1. It doesn't need to be horrendous to be a bad idea to bring him back. If he's not good to his fellow creative, that doesn't get better by being handed the highest profile thing in creative circles.
2. Showrunning an animated series doesn't always translate to being good at directing live actors, his strengths lie in his vision for the narrative of each episode, the throughline of the season, the writing, the themes they cover, etc. The individual directors of each episode. If anything he'd be awesome in the writers room and as a person who maps out a 5-10 year plan for franchises (the equivalent of a show's season)
3. Along the lines of his strengths we have to acknowledge the flaws that exist in the products he's delivered thus far (as a writer and showrunner) the pacing on some of the earlier episodes is a bit fast. We love them because we cover a lot of great and familiar stuff in the X-Men lore, but this 10 episode season could have been 12-15 solid episodes without feeling dragged. If anything we should see how he paces a feature length movie on a smaller property before being given something as critical and high profile as X-Men.
He definitely gets the X-Men, no doubt there though. I hope what he did is minor enough that he can spend this time in time out then come back with all parties the better for it.
Counter for Thor? Hercules. Sylvie is Disney plus. Don't make same mistake they did with Cap Marvel 2 brining in characters from Disney plus and not explaining where they came from in the movie. Or even better...Sentry @ Thor counter

So, just an observation...When you're excited for a movie, the re-shoots don't matter. But when you have decided that you don't like a movie (The Marvels, Cap 4, etc), and the re-shoots mean that the production is a mess, and the movie is doomed.

The Sunspot "controversy" comes off like people being lemmings. They're parroting an issue of controversy that was on the comics side related to him being colored lighter and lighter to the point it was as if they were hiding the Afro features of his Afro-latino heritage; which was then exacerbated by him being portrayed by non-Afro-Latinos in live action and people genuinely not knowing he was created as a half Black half White Brazilian who was bullied and called names for being part-Black.
That's no reason to cry down the effective allegorical thematics of coming out to one's parent, and the subsequent messaging of wanting to hide who one's son is while supposedly accepting him once it's all hidden from public.
Also, he's the type of character that, though half Black, would make sense to less dark skinned than Storm or Bishop since he's mixed. There are obviously a variety of Black skin tones and they set him apart from other characters of African (Storm) or Aboriginal (Bishop) decent.
There wasn’t much god bitching in the first gorr story in the comics either. It’s pretty much all off screen

I still love Love and Thunder. I agree it was more silly. But i still love it. It still made money. It's a shame that one "meh" film has made the chuds act like Taika is the worst director ever and make it seem like everything he's done is trash.
And when it comes to the reshoots. They were probably planned from the beginning. And im sure whatever they are doing is only making thing's better. And some surprises cameo wise probably.
I really feel like it's not fair to lump Pedro Pascal in with "person of color", if one took that "Fantastic Four MCU is too white" rumor....it would lend credence to Lakeith Stanfield being attached as a surfer..NOT PP who is a white latino (unlike say, John Leguizamo, Oscar Isaac)...he has called himself white. His status as Latino (which is not a race) doesn't disqualify his whiteness.
Brady and Gronk is not a good example. Brady won four super bowls without Gronk.

I wish people would stop bringing up No Way Home as one of the last great MCU movies. No Way Home was dogshit Winston. It was badly written with alot of stupid plot conveniences for the plot to work. And what is the plot? How do we get old Marvel movie actors into the MCU? That's it. It completely ignores the existence of Uncle Ben, ignores the fact that he already learned the lesson this movie is trying to teach him. It's a movie written by Sony's marketing department. Having Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the movie might impress people who are easily distracted by the shiny dangling keys, it doesn't impress me. They are everything wrong with the multiverse and the MCU. It's all nostalgia bait.
