I have a lovely cashmere hoodie in gray and also in a creamy tan/neutral. I pair it with elevated denim, sometimes white, to be occasion-appropriate for things like hockey and football games. I really like this series.
I never liked hoodies much, but I do have a couple. After watching this video I went and tried them on with a blazer and I was surprised how much I liked the look. Thanks for the great idea! Sometimes you just have to try things even if you think you won't like them.
I always feel that a knitted hoody is a bit more elevated than a 'sweatshirt material' one.
I love the outfits with the blazers and the hoodies. For me they are the perfect balance of smart and casual. Put together yet relaxed. And I love the brown blazer with the grey hoody.
Great ideas, Gemma. Two years ago, I picked up my daughter at the airport in Phoenix (she came in from NYC) and I wore a pair of black joggers, an ivory sweatshirt and my black tweed blazer with black trainers. My daughter commented how stylish I looked (I was 64 at the time). I don't wear these outfits often, but as you said, these pieces can be elevated.
It’m not a fan of very casual sportswear looks, so this is how I wear my cashmere hoodies or joggers, too - mixed in with smarter pieces, especially blazers or skirts. Fab ideas fir outfits, as always, Gemma. Your Vlog-mas is my holiday treat!

This is perfect! I just ordered a beautiful grey wool blazer and slacks. I have a black cashmere hoodie that I’ve had forever so I’ll be pair those together. I also have a pair of black leather pants that I can throw in too. ☺️💖

Love your channel. But I don’t think there is anything wrong with looking “stuffy” . I think hoodies are too causal. If it’s cold I would rather wear a hat and scarf. I think that the world is getting causal in their method of dressing. I wish we all would go toward more formal dressing.
I agree. I look to this kind of advice as an option for something to wear to, say, a cold sporting event like a hockey or football game where I need to dress for the occasion without looking… well. You know 😆
Love the outfit ideas Gemma but I am not a fan of grey paired with brown or with camel. It just looks off to me. I love each of the colours, just not together 😊 Thank you for all of your hard work in presenting daily too ❤🎄

I do love these classic greys, beiges and blacks but unfortunately they look terrible on me. I need colour. My solution is to use navy as my neutral and then maybe add another colour for interest, such as red or cream or camel. I also think beige can make you look older after your mid-fifties as you lose colour in your face.

Day 3 was a normal day / normal video. If I have one of those I’m going to miss the date so I can keep on the right day of the week if that makes sense 😊
