I've never taken these before, came across this vid in my feed and it looked interesting. I just wanted to share something i learned from being prescribed a pain pill for my back. The doc prescribed something he thought would help, i told him i had some other pain pill previously and i would like to take that again. He told me i could get both. When i went to the pharmacist to pick them up, the pharmacist looked alarmed and cautioned me that they cant both be taken together, that could cause a stroke. I was in shock that my doctor allowed this and didn't even warn me. Needless to say, make sure all your docs know of all meds and do your research as the man in the vid stated and good luck to you all.

Doctors often prescribe medications that interact without realizing, it's dangerous and it ends up being your pharmacy workers that have to pick up these problems

Absolutely loving your content mate. So so proud of you for speaking out to the public... sometimes this is a great way to heal yourself by healing others and I think you are definitely making a positive impact mate..... pills are prescribed as a quick fix to get us off the doctors cases and out of the waiting rooms because the government makes more money from prescription medication that they do anything else...... I will use a quote that I always return to.... pills only numb a wound so we can’t feel the pain but I unfortunately that wound is still bleeding and eventually you will bleed out... We need to heal these wounds not mask them and the way forward is speaking out like your doing mate.. speaking to loved ones, best friends, mentors whoever it may be... just please don’t hold things in because that’s when It all builds and builds and eventually like anything that pressure will eventually explode..,, thank you again Conor for sharing your journey and maybe giving people who watch the the confidence to speak out and quite simply get it off their chest..... It’s not what you have in your life that matters, it’s who you have... 💙💙💙

You are correct pills aren’t the answer for people who have suffered with a great trauma as they need councilling etc but for people like me who have no reason to suffer depression and anxiety due to a chemical imbalance then the only answer is medication and all other treatments like CBT are a waste of time

Seems like this stuff is prescribed for a multitude of different ailments. I'm on it for severe nerve pain/damage from a horrendous ankle dislocation that broke it too and ripped nerves and tendons apart too. Handy to know about your experiences and what to watch, so thanks for that. Can't be easy to talk about so well done.

Hey, I am looking for a potential alternative to Hydrocodone. I had a severely herniated lumbar disc and the nucleus stuck to the nerve root. I got one of the best neurosurgeons in the world to fix me (artificial disc replacement in Germany) and they cleaned out the nerve root under the microscope, too, but I am still getting periodic inflammations 7 weeks post-operation. How is pregabalin working for your nerve pain? I am just looking for a plan B for my nerve pain/inflammations, if my doc decides that he can't prescribe opioids anymore. Nerve pain is absolutely horrendous, by the way, for anyone who has never experienced it.

I quit it quite easily, despite being on 600mg per day. Can't relate, but I was very scared while quitting due to documents I've seen. Now it's been long time off.
You're very right about thing waiting in the corner! Too long story to tell now via phone, tho. :) Keep being strong, mate. Hope everything's going in the right direction with ya, you deserve it: don't let your mental issues tell you otherwise, ever. I send understanding of the struggle, support and love! ❤

Got it for 6 months now. Just taking 2 times 50mg a day. Sometimes even 25mg a day and I feel so much calmer more confident and social. Sometimes I don't take it for 2 days and I don't feel the rush to take it. Sometimes I think if I should just quit it. But for me it helped tremendously on low dose.
Something what also helped me was getting into stoicism. The mindsets later me handle the downs of life better.

I came of some tablets 4-5 months ago and Iv been feeling better not had one break down been to my mental health doctor today and he's trying to pill me up on pregabalin Iv tried so many tablets when Iv not wanted to for 6 years Iv had so many bad side affects from them all I'm 100% not trying these! Just reassures me not to.. and be comfortable in my decision to say no.. Iv found what's helping me at the moment is clean eating and exercising even if I can't leave the house sometimes just a small indoor work out.. Iv not had one break down in 4 months being on completely nothing I was on loads of different tablets for 6 years having maybe 1-2 a week breakdowns, I still obviously have my mental health issues but I'm 100x worse on tablets .. I live with my mental health and I know more about myself then any doctor can to say here is a pill to fix you .. all minds are different no two are the same so I don't get how one pill can fix so many minds? There just dopers at the end of the day and I don't wanna be doped out, I get it's good for some people it's just not for me

They refuse to listen to people and refuse to see the damages it causes. When my DR saw what it did to me when trying to get off it he only prescribed it to people who were within in a year or two of death!!! I had to quit 9 years ago because of the weird thinking that had begun after 5 years of being on it. My life has been a living hell due to Lyrica ever since. I thought nerve pain was bad but it's not that much at all, compared to what pain I deal with now.

Shame on your doctor ,it's horrendous how they dish out these drugs like sweets ,they should damm well be looking at practical help for you and your son ,so that you can get some respite care ,for you and him ,but it's a fight all the way to get any help, without shouting out loud ,even worse when your ill yourself ,good luck ,I totally empathize ,!!

I am off and on with Lyrica. Anywhere from 600 to 1000mg per day. I built up to these higher doses over time. Rather I quit cold turkey or step down it doesn't matter for me. I go through 4 days of withdrawals. Day 1 is easy. No appetite, not thirsty, not interested in much. Day 2 starts to suck. Stomach upset, gassy, no appetite at all, not thirsty and major anxiety and feelings of sadness, can't sleep well, bad dreams. Day 3 is the same. Day 4 everything improves. By day 5 everything is better, but there's cravings for Lyrica. It's not easy, but not impossible. Be careful with the seizure risk. I noticed a distorted sense of taste and smell before the seizures I've had. I hope this helps. I don't plan on taking any more Lyrica. The side effects willkill me.

For me pregablin has been a life saver but all drugs effect people in different ways. After many years of drinking just as everyone else does I decided to give up 18 months ago as every time I drink I get really depressed and anxious Which normally lifts after a few days but a number of times it has led to a major depressive episode and when I was younger nobody not even the doctors linked drink and depression and it’s only been 4/5 years that I have realised how bad it is for me.

I have been off these for 3 weeks now. I tapered off for 4 months and now until taking nothing at all for the past 3 weeks now I still don’t feel 100 percent At the start it felt like I was a walking zombie and didn’t want to leave my bed. I had sero motivation and I’ve had dramatic weight loss and had a hell of a time coming off them and all these different feelings of discomfort came along with it. My body temp raised an awfully and I’m experiencing a bad case of anxiety and depression as symptom of withdrawal, what I can say is it’s been 3 weeks now coming off the drug and I feel
My appetite has naturally picked up and I’m having a bit more of energy about me now where as if I taken 300mg per day I would be bouncing with energy and able
To do anything i wanted really the drug motivated me to do everything but once I came off it I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow and my brain thought completely differently. Slowly getting myself off this poison I feel like the more I progress and work on my self care the better and hope as the weeks / months go by without taking it I get my old true self back again , long road and still early days for me coz I’ve been clean for 3 weeks , I don’t have much memory loss now but dr has put me on diazepam to help with sleeping at night and temp sleeping tabs because this was seriously having a bad impact on my life when I stopped taking the lyrica my insomnia flared up bad again. What I found that helped me was making yourself (eat) and drink plenty of water and restore your natural energy back I know there is a lot ahead for me to get to the place I want to be , I forget who I was before I started taking this evil drug but I do believe the body is an amazing thing and it will be in full recovery as long as it’s
Completely clear of my system I would never want to look
At one again seeing I’ve came this far is there is no turning back

So with the schedule I come off 10% per month. In total its going to take 2 years, because 10% of 90% is less than the initial first 10%. The withdrawal is still brute, but its better than cold turkey which i have tried 2x in 12 years.

Pregabalin works almost like a weak opioid but with different effects on the GABAergic presynaptic terminals by regulating calcium ion reuptake, and it`s a pretty new drug so they want to paint it as a "wonderdrug" even though they know it`s dangerous. This effect leads to there being to much calcium ions in the presynaptic cleft which cause serious health risks since it degenerates the neurons. It should not be mixed with other calcium ion inhibitors like benzoes, opioids, ssri, MAOi ++. It just should not be used for anxiety. This medicine is also addictive just like an opioid which are known to cause depressions, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and so on when you have withdrawals...

It’s ok to say all that science mambo jumbo but if like me you have tried all the SSRIs and SNRIs which takes weeks to work and you have to start again. I think I have spent nearly a year for one of them to work and they didn’t so my doctor said do I want to try pregablin? And as I was suicidal I said yes. So I took 1 and within 30 minutes my life was changed as I felt somewhere near normal so yes it should be a anti anxiety drug but all drugs effect people in different ways so it won’t be right for some people. The problem is over 60 % of people taking SSRIs and SNRIs they don’t work for them and even if they do work 3/4 weeks to start working is far to long for people who are at a crisis point. I think as do a growing number of scientists that we have been targeting the wrong area of the brain in serotonin and should be targeting dopamine which is the feel good chemical in our brains

@@liquid79 I didn't know it was going to be so bad is the honest answer, the potency of those pills didn't register with me til I tried to stop taking em. After day 9, I was still in withdrawal, vomiting and all the rest, so went my Gp who put me back on 200mg a day for a week, then tapered down by 50mg each week for 3 more weeks. Worked really well, I'm finished now, and had zero withdrawal. So yes, you DEF SHOULD not quit cold turkey 👍

I don’t drink, I’ve never abused any drug and only take my prescription as advised, however I am tapering and the withdrawal is hell. I’m on an opiate which I have taken for years and do not suffer if I forget that but my chemist kept messing up my pregabalin. My doctors told me to just make sure I never ran out. Which wasn’t possible. They didn’t want me off of them so I went it alone dropping from 600 to 300 to 150 as mine are in 150mg. Finally this week I told my doctor I had to go it alone and I’m not going backwards so they have now prescribed lesser amounts. Let me tell you I am an ex smoker, I did used to party a lot and haven’t got an addictive personality. My doctor admitted then that withdrawal is not all in my head but physically it is. The withdrawal happens because the neurons in your brain are confused. Be careful taking this drug. I wish I had researched more six years ago before taking it. They still prescribe it Willy nilly in my town but my friend lives 30 minutes away and her doctors do not prescribe it at all!

What other medications did you stop taking? If you quit Fluoxetine (Prozac) cold turkey it can take a long time sometimes a couple of weeks for withdrawal symptoms to show because this drug has a long half life, I had to stop fluoxetine cold turkey due to a perforated stomach ulcer, this was blamed for the ulcer formulating in the first place, The only antidepressant I can use now is Mirtazipine and I didn’t like the side effects, I needed something for anxiety so that’s how Pregabalin came about, I was having pretty bad panic attacks everyday.

I took it off script to start with then requested it from the doctor as it completely changed my life & my anxiety/eupd for the better. I'm now on 150mg twice a day. Yet some of my friends who have GAD/Social anxiety find it terrible & no good and hated it. It's a really strange acting medication but I feel it gets shunned because of this. Yet I do feel because it's strange acting & almost dangerous for some it can be a risky med. All I can say is personally it has changed my life for the best. Got me free from a 15+ severe alcohol problem caused by social anxiety & keeps me 100% stable in the community.
So yeah - Great for some, absolutely terrible for others. Watch out for this.

    Interesting-
Lyrica is the most effect medication I take.
I find the difference in each individuals reaction to this drug fascinating-which also beggars the point, "one size does NOT fit all."
Some people such as myself can take this drug (I take 300Mg a day) without the slightest side effect.
    As for going off?
Nary an issue. I discontinue it and never look back. No muss, no fuss-no anything.
When and if my nephropathy returns, I simply begin taking the medication once again.
The medical profession needs to understand and address this very REAL issue-that many humans metabolize medications
very differently from the standard gibberish printed as gospel in the "PDR." (Physicians Desk Reference)
    Good luck!

Ive never had any withdrawal symptoms, i took over 1000mg of pregab one day and then i would stop for a week or two. I would take from 150 to 600+. The most ive took in one day is probably 1500-1700mg. But i never have any withdrawal symptoms. I dont have an urge to take it when i do stop. But when i go on it its for anxiety, i take 150 on a daily basis before school. I have abused it alot, ive snorted it, over used it. But once ive stopped for a couple weeks because the presciption ran out, i didnt have urges to take it and i had no withdrawal symptoms.

on 100mg for a few weeks then tried 165mg twice a day for 3 days but no help so now I'm weaning off and it's hellish. The 165mg are not made to be broken but I had no choice. I have severe anxiety feel shaky and sweat and have the runs. I will ask the doctor for 25mg and taper from there. Good luck to you and all who have to go through this. Question? will 25mg be easier to stop? I assume it will. Thanks

I take 400mg every evening I used to take 200mg but I asked my Dr to up them as I was still in pain, I take them for my hips and have been on them for about 6 years now, along with them I take 20mg of amitryptaline and also 7.5mg of zopiclone or I can't sleep, the only side effects I get from them is drowsiness that's why I take them in the evening, I do also get a really dry mouth. I've tried everything the Dr's gave me , like mertazapine but nothing really helps apart from the pregabalin.

Its the devils drug. I was on it two months and my withdrawal was indescribable. Something from a horror movie, my parents had to fly in from a different country to help me. Couldnt sleep, couldnt eat, could drink water, vomiting, shaking, feeling like things crawling on me, time slowed to the point i couldnt stand it. I cant stress enough how much i think this drug should be banned. Evil from the devil himself

I took xanax with booze q good few times and all i have now are flashbacks of doing crazy shit i dont even know weather i did or not that where totally out of my charter and nature ....be very careful stay away from drink on gabba drugs.

These medications cause severe breathing problems and impairs lung function. I'm currently on gabapentin which is very similar to lyrica. I been currently on it for the last 4 months. I was prescribed gabapentin 3× a day 1800mg in the hospital in inpatient treatment related to suicidal thoughts and depression. In the last 4 years I been on and off of gabapentin at one point 2400mg a day. I'm starting a slow taper with the permission from my doctor. I'm starting 900mg a day instead of 1200. I hope to come off of it completely in 2 weeks time. I've had severe insomnia and haven't slept or very little at all when I started the gabapentin. My breathing problems have gotten progressively worse since I started gabapentin, I never used to have any breathing problems in my life until I started this drug and my mood swings have gotten so severe. I wish I knew that then that that's what was causing it. I look at every possible thing it can be. My mood has gotten worse. It feels like someone or something is choking you to death it's a really scary feeling. I cant breathe normally anymore. This is becoming a Huge Problem for me and big pharma, the fda and the companies that manufacture and make these drugs really need to do something about these 2 drugs lyrica and gabapentin. I started to use gabapentin to get off opioids, heroine, oxcycodone. Your better off going cold turkey with medical supervision. I can honestly say it's more addictive than anything I've ever had or was put on
More addictive than opioids in my opinion. Big pharma and the government doesn't want to deal with controlled substances anymore and the prescribing of controlled substances. The problem is big pharma is just creating another problem just like what happend to purdue pharma for negleciance and the manipulation and lies about the use of oxycontin. Just like what happens to Purdue pharma with oxycontin, the 750 lawsuits plus and counting and the fact that the drug is still on the market. It will happend to the makers of gabapentin too if they dont do something about this now, unbelievable.

The mistake was the doc increasing your dose way too quickly IMHO - if he/she had increased by 25mg every other week then things might have turned out very differently. For me it was fantastic for back pain, highly recommend it!
