I was interested in one of these until I found out Hyundai/Kia/Genesis charges $50,000+ for a replacement battery.
Everyone charges that much for a battery. Everyone also provides an 8-10 year warranty. Unless you're deciding to hold on to these first gen EVs like an heirloom, it doesn't matter how much they charge for a battery as long as it's under the manufacture warranty. These new EVs are disposable cheap lease and dump options and you get new ones every 3 years.
VW doesn't. And it does matter, if the car is worth nothing after the warranty. I don't lease my vehicles.

This is nothing new my friend, cars are not assets they are depreciating, rotting liabilities.
