- I thought this was long gone to be completely frank, but as it turns out, I still have a copy. This is my first ever involvement with Nickelodeon, and what got me my job as a production editor at the Orlando department 6 years later.
This was one of many novelty tapes sent to Nick's parent company when they reached out to Fred/Alan Inc. at the time for their upcoming rebrand. At the time I was working not for Nick, but for Fred/Alan, and was given the task of editing these promotional tapes. Truthfully, they were just rehashes of the pamphlets sent in with the tapes themselves (if I end up finding any of the pamphlets I'll post scans).
While watching, you may notice early variations of logos the network would use later on. Reason being these tapes were made long before the logo format was finalized.
Heya, so I just wanted to log into this age-old account and clear up some stuff.
Number one - this was a failed ARG I started a couple years back with a few friends of mine (MikeJEHMSZ you're awesome bro). Obviously this didn't come across at the time, but then again we didn't get a proper chance to introduce the ARG-oriented elements into the vids. Regardless, yeah. We should've been a bit more transparent.
Number two - TapeWorm/TAPE_W0RM did not, in fact, steal this video, because I am literally Wormy lol. I recycled this video for my current channel to fit my ongoing analog series. ua-cam.com/video/a2wBJzGFT5I/v-deo.html
I originally unlisted this video due to the hate in the comments, but I realized unlisting this actually caused more confusion once my newer upload got traction. So yeah, just wanted to clear the air :) Thanks to the few who followed this little project a couple years back.
It's actually Balloon SC. It even has the monospace when you write "Nickelodeon".
The correct font used Nickelodeon's 1984-2009 logotype is actually "Balloon Extra Bold."
@@benjaminvlz yeah, but you can't tell the difference between the lowercase & uppercase letters.
It's good to see this evolve to what is now known as "We'll Be Right Back".
1984. The year Warner Amex sold Nickelodeon to Viacom Communications, a year before Viacom then launched an IPO called MTV Networks,Inc, and the year Nickelodeon went Open Circuited on Cable.

The logos look fine but speaking as someone who has created memes for a long time now the video looks terrible. You never use white colored font on a light background b/c it makes it almost impossible to read.
speaking as a graphic designer I recommend switching to black or some other color, white on bright colors obviously clash
