I can’t afford the “better” or “best” cheese. Out of the “cheaper” brands, for sandwiches Sargento is best so TOTALLY disagree with you. There IS a difference in taste. For snacking, my favorite is Definitely laughing cow with herbs. Did NOT like President’s Brie. GROSS 🤮
Old Croc Smoked Cheddar Cheese is amazing. I sliced this up for guests at Thanksgiving last year, and a number of them had not had it before. Worth a try!! It's imported from Australia.
When I was a boy in the 1960s, our milkman from the Foremost dairy always delivered Tillamook cheese in five pound blocks encased in paraffin. I've never tasted better.
It is kind of expensive and has limited shipping windows to the warmer states, but I really enjoy Kerry Gold cheeses. We always pick some up for the family holidays.
Cabot makes an aged 5 year cheddar that is so good. The cheese crystallizes in your mouth. I don't know how to describe it. If you are in New England, try to find this 5-yr cheese. It comes in a black wrapper.
When I was a child, Velveeta was what my mother used for cheese. My mother bought meat in a small grocery store that had a fresh meat counter at the back of the store.
All time favorite: Cabot Spicy Jack. It’s sold in the cheese section near the deli. It’s a grade above the Cabot sold in the dairy section, which is also great cheese. Don’t know if Cabot available anywhere but northeast.
Great list!! So much delicious cheese. Don’t forget the cheese section if you have a Trader Joe’s nearby. They carry many of these selections plus many more at some of the best prices. Now, I want cheese. Oh wait! I have some swiss. Off to the kitchen...
The tour of the Tillamook Creamery is fun and the restaurant was amazing. They're located a little over an hour from us and it's always a great stopover.
@@bluejem1315 The secret of eating most cheeses is to soften them up by taking them out of the fridge before you eat them. The warming brings out the creaminess and flavor
I only know Babybel (laughing cow) and president. I do know Gouda, Edammer, Old Amsterdam, Rotterdamse oude and a lot of brands that are from a specific supermarket. Also Grana Padano. Yes, I'm Dutch.
Although cheddar cheese was originally produced in the English village of Cheddar, unfortunately the name "cheddar" has no Protected Designation of Origin status.
I've tried maybe 5 different types of Sargento cheeses. Usually when they were on sale to save money. I wouldn't recommend any Sargento cheese to anyone. If you like Sargento cheese its because the cheese buds on your tongue are dead.
I didn't realize it till afterward, but now I have Rick Astley's 'Never Gonna Give You Up' in my head - because of the background music. Similar chord changes.
They’re pretty basic I’d suggest trying some European cheese to mix it up even an Edam or Gouda for example instead of the cheddar ! Or pecorino instead of parm! Mozzarella I just pray u don’t buy the pre grated kind 😛😛
Sorry, in Australia we have 36 month aged cheddar for the same price as single wrap crap cheese. Even in our country taste buds are in the reverse end, though we haven't lowered ourselves to bright orange food dye
Never heard of or tasted Manchego or Iberico? Asiago or Gorgonzola? Stilton or Llangloffan? Comte or Rochebaron? That Parmesan comes in a little green can and that cheddar is world's best - you must be American
You minding your own business early morning at the farm, then you you hear a funny strange laugh,..you turn around to see..a happy cow..laughing at..you.
Clearly, the people who made this video know nothing about cheese. Funny, how all the cheese they chose are mass produced and taste nothing like “real” cheese. Methinks, the producers need to travel to Europe to truly understand the variety of good cheese. I wouldn’t buy any of the cheeses mentioned in this video.
@@soaringkite2673 exactly what I was thinking. They have wonderful imports branded (or re-branded) for Trader Joes. Since they’re owned by Aldi Süd, they have some of the same products but with the Trader Joe’s label for USA.
I don't think it is fair to have Velveeta on a list comparing cheese because as you pointed out it is not cheese. Velveeta does not even need to be refrigerated. Velveeta(which I love) is like Papa John's I like Papa John's but it is not pizza.
Just about all these cheeses are processed and could only be sold in America. The USA today for cheeses is where the USA was for coffee 20 years ago. You have great tasting to come
Man, even as a kid in the 80s I thought Velveeta was nasty bs. I thought it tasted like plastic wax. Not cheese! Gross! Same with kraft American cheese singles. What garbage!!
Once you have had a GOOD Brie you will never touch President's Brie again. If you don't want to develop a VERY expensive Brie habit, then stick President's. The Cabot's, Kerrygold and Tillamook do deserve a place in your Fridge - oh and Baby Bels are a lovely little guilty pleasure as well.

What do you think is the best cheese brand?
Balderson. Good luck.
BelGioioso is by far the best!
I think basing this on American availability in supermarkets, gives an incomplete picture.
You need to try that she’s from Jamaica it’s called tasty cheese. That cheese is so delicious.😊😊

To be honest, I sometimes eat an individual Laughing Cow Cheese.
Not with cracker, bread or whatever. On its own. I like the creaminess.

Tillamook medium cheddar on taco night will change the game.
Ooh! I’ll have to try that!
Right? Tillamook ice cream is soooo good too!
As an Oregon native Tillamook is always in our house. Cheese and Ice cream but they also make amazing pepperoni sticks.
Eh
I live in Vermont, Cabot IS the bomb! Other great companies too. Shelburne Farms, Vermont Creamery, Jasper Hill, Grafton Village...
Shelburne Farms, and Grafton. Are top notch.
Yep. Cabot cheese is top notch. My favorite Cabot cheese is the President Cheddar in black wax. Almost $18.00 a pound.
I love Cabot cheddar! The best!

The only "affordable" cheese worth buying for me is Tillamook.
My dad loved baby Belle and laughing cow.
We use Polley o mozzarella. I use various saSargent,, borden, cabots, and kraft.

La vache qui rie cheese is so freaking good
Definitely... I sometimes have a small individual serving alone. No cracker needed. Perfect on its own.
I don’t like strong cheeses but the laughing cow is so damn good… it’s like butter but not too fat hahaha.
Boars Head makes some decent cheese too. Weird they’re not on the list
That’s because most people like cheap and crappy. And yes boars head is very good. Spend the money get the better cheese
The Unxpected cheddar from Trader Joe's is delicious.
I love Limburger and Stilton cheese the most, but will eat any cheese that I can get into my mouth! 😄😄
The best cheese is Bongards from Bongards Minnesota it can be purchased right at the factory.
I love Cabot's seriously sharp cheddar!
Tillamook is yummy
Why even include velveeta?
The last time I cut the cheese, it didn't end well.
Hah!
never trust a fart
Here in mexico it's hard to find cheddar cheese but living in the west coast I'll have to go with tillamook

Try Stilton if you love blue cheese. It's creamier and less salty.

Cracker barrel white cheddar! 😁

IMO the vegan and plant made cheese isn't real cheese. It just doesn't make sense to make veggies and plants into some this that comes from milk.
100% agree, all of it is horrid, ALL of it - I will NOT train myself to pretend any of it is good.
It's not cheddar unless it was made in England, It taste's completely different. Its like Champaign. If its made somewhere else its sparkling wine.
