I'm into metal since the 80s. Yes, really. I listened to thrash, death, melodic and i went to so many gigs. Watching Steel Panther is like opening a time capsule. So much fun, good energy and music.
A big part of that is their age, they're 10-20 years younger than those classic bands in the sense that they most likely haven't used as much hard drugs, drank as much gallons of whisky and vodka. You know.

It's so easy to forget just how good they are. Satchel is topnotch - he does not miss a beat with all the crap he's doing. He still rips out red hot solos and chops. Drummer is good ; they all can sing. The one thing that I noticed in this video is how much charisma Michael has; very good looking.

I've seen these guys a couple of times live and bought tickets to see them again in January. They're a legit band and fucking hilarious as well. There are some backing tracks used to fill in the instrumentation during solos, the guitar harmonies (although these could very easily been coming from a harmonizer pedal, which sounds more likely to me), and maybe even a few spots for backing vocals, but this is not being played directly off the recordings. This is an actual performance and anyone who has actually BEEN to a show will understand that. Great band; wish there were more like them these days.
