One thing I find interesting is how Tekken 1 has moving character portraits for the arcade version but not the PS1 version. At first I thought maybe they ditched the animations to make more space for the revamped music, but then again, maybe they realized that the cgi wasn’t very polished at the time, so they decided to just take the most suiting frame from each one so that it didn’t come off as uncanny
