I love the old Superman covers. He is such a good character, it's unfortunate the ended up doing way too much with him. I actually have a lot of Superman's myself and saw many of the ones I have in this video. Thanks!
I was able to finish my endeavour at the end of 2023. Collecting Superman and Action Comics from my birth month and year to the present day. So I now have Action #224 to the present and Superman Vol 1 #110 to the present. I planned to do the same with Batman and Detective, so far only back to Jan 1970 with Detective and Sept 1971 with Batman. At the prices they are I don't see me completing those any time soon, if ever! Lovely to see those hard won covers on show!
I also believe that the 419 was the first an only time I ever beat you to a claim. I had a CGC copy, so I don't know what I was thinking. It went to the better home.
It is Curt Swan. He tends to grow on you. When I was younger I wasn’t into his art. Same as Gene Colan but as the years went by I fell in love with his art. Go figure
Oh seeing those old Superman comics remind me that there was a time where Superman used to change in a phone booth 😊 and seeing those bronze age early 1970's books takes me back to my childhood, Clark went from working for the daily planet to being a television news anchorman
That Superman #169, did have the fun D C competition though, they supposedly had only one D and one C in the entire story and you had to find them, unfortunately there were 2 extra D's which kind of ruined the competition, I think they reprinted it in Superman #202 with only the one D and C in! Fun times, lol!
Thanks Josh! For the main superman run I think I've picked up most the books I was looking for, but for superman related titles I would love to snag the 1st appearance of Bizarro and Supergirl this year. Oh wait, and the 1st Brainiac is high on my list
Thank you for checking it out! Most of the few extremely high grade i tracked down on ebay but the bulk of the books I won in UA-cam claim sales. A fairly big comic youtuber named Minthunter Comics has claim sales just about every week. These are from a DC silver age specific sale he had that I had claimed a huge chunk!
@@ConlinsComics Thanks man. I should start checking UA-cam for claim sales. I have never used this platform for my purchases. Congrats again, I love Adams covers but for silver age Supes Curt Swan was damn amazing too.
@@sayantinju some can be sketchy but Minthunter Comics is the 1st youtuber whos sales i participated in and ive done so manyyy times since. Hes also a good one to try out for your first time because of how easy he makes it. He has a link to a form you fill out in the live chat and he sends you a paypal invoice that night and ships the next day. But once you start its hard to stop, goodluck!
I remember when you scooped these up! Love these books! Great collection!
That was a crazy claim sale for sure lol thanks for tuning in!

Thats awesome, thanks for checking it out!

That sounds like an awesome collection youve put together! With Batman and Detective the price made me be a bit choosier

Great collection, love me some Neal Adams! Awesome video, subbed and looking forward to more content!
Thank you very much! I've been going down the silver age rabbit hole lately!
@@ConlinsComics it’s a fun rabbit hole to go down and awesome parts of comic book history!

Right!? Something about these Superman books just takes you back in time, i love them!

I did not even know that and just had to look it up. Thats pretty cool!
Love seeing the older Superman covers, What Superman Grails would you like to pick up?

Just like you I never planned to collect a lot of Superman but when you’re in those claim sales it just kinda happens😅
Claim sales are both a blessing and a curse. I spend more than i need to, but get exposed to awesome new books lol
Amazing collection , where did you get these from? Most of them seem to be in mid to high grade.
And ya its Curt Swan for most of those silver age covers.

I might take some of the lower grade Adams books.... Just sayin. LOL
Some might just find their way to you Matt lol
