Big Thanks to Pras for joining us, it’s a long old slog looking at each club but it’s all timestamped so pick it up and choose what you need guys and girls. It’s big chunk of work to put together so all support and sharing appreciated! 🤍
Such a great pod guys & appreciate all the work that's gone behind it! Still one of the most underrated pods out there & hope that changes with & at the FCAs ❤
Hey guys this is really awesome stuff. Thanks for this analysis. I’ll certainly try to incorporate these thoughts on my channel this week! Some interesting points I’d add on Liverpool. Trent did have some quite high XA from chances created early in the season for some big chances Jota missed. If you exclude those he would sit in line with most other defenders and most of his XA is coming from corners with FAR less from open play than previously. Also worth noting on Salah that he does actually put in higher work rate defensively which has factored into him having less XA/XG as well as the fact the high press is less intense. He is working far harder defensively under Slot but he has just been incredibly clinical in his finishing this year in comparison to prior years to get his returns. I’ll probably talk about this in my videos later in the week more. Love your stats showing how all this has impacted his bps though!
Love this....3 of my favourite content creators all on 1 stream! So much detail and expertise. Will be tuning in for team selection videos on this channel & the wire
First time I’ve seen your content. Thanks to Andrew from FPL SIDENET for referring me to your channel. Most informative FPL show I’ve seen for a long while. Appreciate the time that went into this video. Cheers!
Alright gents, not listened to your pod before and I have had to do it in 4 sittings but that was incredibly useful! For captaincy it backs picking a player with strong baseline so if the get 1 return there is a good chance of the extras. I wish I had seen this last game week as would have pushed me off the Brennan captain to Bruno. Will think twice before captaining someone without good baseline going forward.
I dont think its as bad as it looks for defenders as -4 for conceded goals is included in baseline meaning any defender who keeps a cleansheet will have a considerably higher baseline than suggested. For example, if Arsenal saw the game out against Chelsea last week, Raya Gabriel and Saliba would have actually taken all the bonus between them, trumping Odegaard and Martinelli's attacking returns
Great episode chaps. What do you think will happen next season with BPS given they've obviously cocked it up against defenders and keepers? Reversal or reduction of the -4? Also can I ask how/where you get your data on this as its not something I see anywhere else. Thanks
@@Jim-gh6mr as for next season…we’ll just have to see. I’d like them to punish that first goal conceded less for sure, that might be all it takes to level it up a bit.
Newcastle perspective: in the last 3 matches (incl Chelsea cup) we’ve conceded 1 noteworthy chance, the set piece forest scored. Midfield with willock Bruno longstaff makes the team defence and attack function to elite levels. we are back and coming for the top 4 when this starting 11 with those 3 in midfield plus joelinton as a hybrid wide forward, wide mid. Sack off tonali, he will struggle to make the starting 11. FPL wise, trust Lewis Hall and Isak as assets!!!
Absolutely brilliant pod and work by all involved here. Special shout out to Adam for the data pull. First time catching one of these BPS pods, really impressed! And the fact it was all offered for free and not behind a paywall. Kudos lads 🫡
Thanks for the pod, guys. Could you briefly explain the relationship between baseline and bonus. For example at 1:18:50 Adam mentions Wharton has highest baseline for palace, yet never going to get any bonus. I thought the baseline scores are how they calculated bonus. Must’ve missed something
Hi Matthew. So baseline is the foundation, but you normally still need a decisive action on top such as an assist or a goal, and Wharton really isn’t reliable for those
@@BakerFPL343fantastic, thanks Baker appreciate that. Echo what I’ve just heard Pras say, you boys deserve many more subscribers for the content you put out. And I’ve seriously needed that comfort blanket on a Sunday this season 😂
@@BakerFPL343 just been back and watched the first section (in my defence, earlier I was just listening whilst working), and this makes perfect sense to me now. Thanks for explaining, it’s been bugging me for a while!
I think Matt O'Riley's going to be in the Brighton discussion soon and could become the clear second pick in that attack. Or from another perspective, in the cheap mid discussion, among your Semenyos and ESR's and Rogers's.
Drinking the koolaid on Mo is the best asset this game has ever seen from an 11 game sample of some of the best fixtures you can have… He’s great, but I don’t think it is clear he scores more per million than Haaland here on out. He will have some reversion to the mean during the tougher games
Maybe just a history of me owning Son but my feeling is that he is always better to own against the better teams like city who plays ball rather than the lower teams 🤔
someone looked at the changes to the bonus point system before the season started and showed a few examples of how it might change things. think it was FFScout, or Blackbox. Basically predicted that defenders would lose out and players who have lots of shots on target and/or get fouled a lot would benefit, which is more or less what you're showing here. what's interesting to me is that at this stage in the season both Mids and Defs have so many less assists. If they were getting similar assist numbers then I wonder what the picture would look like?
@@AboveAverageFPL that's funny, I don't normally watch you guys, but I guess it was a popular thing to cover in the dog days before the season started!

Fantastic pod! Really helpful for my WC considerations! Thanks both and to Pras for joining!!!
Elite level FPL podcasting - great to have Pras join with his in-depth insights. Love these IB crossovers!
Thanks John!
Smashing show guys! Happy to have tuned in for it on the train even though my signal was awful the bit I saw was superb 👏
I just tuned in, thanks for recommending watching this, would have listened otherwise. Looking forward!
great pod! need deciding on playing RAN/Andersen and upfront Raul/Cunha, im on Fulham boys, bonus should back this, whats your thoughts?

Best fpl video this season!

That was funny as! 🤣🤣😄
Great pod lads! Really appreciate the hard work that’s gone into it
Top content gents - on wildcard this week and this is really helpful in guiding some of my choices. Looks like a long one but it absolutely flies by
Glad it helps!

Brilliant pod that lads, nice one. 👍🏻
This is brilliant, Adam, Baker and Pras, Bookmarking this video for the season. Amazing insights on what's changed in (B)BPS.
Thank you gents for the much effort placed here! Great piece with a super guest.

Ask Mark Sutherns who was the go-to Forest defender around GW6 and why. 😢
Forest defenders top 3 for xG btw:
1. Milenkovic 1.46
2. Williams 0.57
3. Murillo 0.51
Big chances:
1. Milenkovic 4
2. Williams 2
3. Murillo 1

The bps are ruined this year. Stupid rules. Why did they change it????? It was fine before...

Yeah, that was us. We did that 😂
correction, defenders have less assists (and clean sheets) and mids have fewer goals.
