I wonder how difficult it is for Ryan to put into words what comes more or less instinctively to him, so that rather than a horse whisperer he’s a horse to human translator…
Thank you posting this. It’s so helpful to hear your running comments as you read this sensitive mare, and respond to her thinking/actions and considerations. Her willingness to trust you was well earned. Looking forward to watching more progress with her.
She looked surprised when the rope came off. I think this horse has a kind nature. Once she learns to trust people, someone is going to end up with a really nice horse. Patience goes a long way in training, no doubt about it.
I so appreciate your video of this. Gaining trust takes huge amounts of patience and tiny steps of accomplishment. But getting those little steps to connect creates the strong foundation that makes everything that follows successful. Too many skip these important lessons and then wonder why things fall apart down the road.
Riata is so beautiful. I’m a fan of paints anyway. My first horse was a paint and I had to give her up due to having to move into town and had no where to keep her. I miss her all the time.
Excellent video. Loved that first contact and that mare has a nice attitude. Even when unsure she reacts in a calm manner and comes right back. Going to make a nice horse.
I’m afraid of “my” feral cat that showed up in the barn 2 years ago. I can’t imagine getting within biting/striking/petting distance of a feral horse. “You’re a better man than I am Gunga Din.”😊
Big applause! Loved how you kept her in that zone--push up to the limit and soften, then go again. Like playing football between the 40-yard lines. (Or in this case, the 49-yard lines!) I don't know how she compares to other feral horses, but this is not something for anyone without a lot of knowledge and experience. Thanks for reinforcing that during the video, too. I think it's easy to see this and think you can just "follow the formula." There isn't one.
She's a nice mover. Interesting horse for sure. Thank you for sharing your journey with her. Been doing horse rescue for years and enjoy seeing horses with human problems being worked with and brought along to be trusting and useful once again! Hope to talk with you one day... Wow, you guys you are now Lords of the Manor. Does that house have a name? I don’t know if they name homes in the Netherlands, like they do in England. I could not be any happier for you to the only way I could be happier is if that was my house lol anyhow, looking forward to seeing more of your videos and watching your journey to get the house the way you want it and the land
How is she so dang clean?!? I'm always brushing mud and manure spots off my nice tame horse, and here's this feral don't-touch-me mare looking like she just stepped out of the wash rack! What's her secret?!
New to your channel. Love it!! I notice you don’t talk to the horse or give them encouragements like “good girl” “good boy” “nice” …in gentle tones. Curious why? NO critique, just curious. 🐴 💙
She's gorgeous! Just curious, if you recently acquired her, have you done an ultra sound on her? She looks like she may be pregnant due to the milk veins on her belly unless it's just vasodilation. Also noticing some stiffness in her hind right leg.
She is a gorgeous horse....any chance she is pregnant? Am a newbie but I am learning to look at mare bellies. Looks a little full. If I missed your comment, just asking. Thanks.
What do you do when you have a four year old horse that will let you touch her brush her groom her play with her mane and tail. You can lift her feet and clean them. She has no issue. She will stand still without being tied because she does not want us to put a halter runner. If she even sees us coming with a halter, she gets upset.
Teach her to come to you, and pet her each time she does. Use this method with the halter in your hand. Next step, rub her neck with the halter, then rub her head with it. This takes time, maybe days. Then drape it over poll. Teach her to lower her head to pressure. Then putthe halter on and take it off, lots of times, so it doesnt even phase her.
I am hard of hearing and it sounds like your whispering. Plrase no negative comments. I was just wondering if you can turn your volume up Ryan? Please and thank you
I have difficulty hearing too but Ryan’s voice is coming through loud and clear on my iPad - have you tried pairing something like iPhones to your device, they work very well for me.
Beautiful horse! Riata is used as slang for (a male organ) in several countries south of the border, FYI, a pretty ugly word. I thought the owner should know...

Ryan Rose is so amazingly articulate and is painstaking in his explanations. Anyone can learn from him.
I really like her personality. She's loud and animated with her thoughts, lol. She's going to be fun for the right person.
love you from Israel ❤❤
your videos are a small respite from the madness here

Gorgeous horse. She seems very bright. It's amazing to watch how your patience, understanding, and knowledge win over these horses.
I love your rope handling skills. Great job with her today. It's interesting to compare her progress with your mustang.
Great job . And the wind!!! Ugh. Not a fan of wind. Shes coming along quick. Love her markings on her fron legs. Cool paint job!
Such finesse, Ryan. You've got the magic hands!❤
Thanks for spending your valuable time helping to tame this girl, Ryan. I love her looks and hope she gets a great home.
Through patience and kindness this was a big win.

You got some cow on your horse.
Her colors are beautiful!

Your neighbors must of loved that!😅
@ oops. Didn’t notice the mistake
Thank you for all that you do! This video speaks volumes. All the bases are covered. For me it's education, and inspiration.
You did wonderfully Ryan. You have a halter on her in no time.

Super awesome stuff! I plan on getting a mustang this summer and following your methods, and joining the patreon! Amazing horsemanship!!!

That horse has striking markings
This Mare is a beauty! ❤

YES, that was a nice step.
She has a beautiful black and white color .
Hello. Another great video. Thank you.
Omg, she is gorgeous.

You’re a pretty girl, please don’t bite me. Haha!
Nice catch Ryan! First try!

A length of bale twine / hay string can be concealed in your jacket pocket
😉

How did they shorten her mane?
It might have gotten chewed off.

I can't change it on my end but maybe on a different device it would be louder.
I have difficulty hearing too but Ryan’s voice is coming through loud and clear on my iPad - have you tried pairing something like iPhones to your device, they work very well for me.

Oh my!
never heard that, it generally just means a rope (lasso)
@@KaliAZBeef There's an RV called Riata and there are many jokes when the expats arrive.
