That little detour showed me a good route I'll take in fine weather. Thanks for showing me that path, it was amazing, it made my day. It was fun watching you put your foot in a puddle too :)
Great video. What a day to choose to travel on. I was up that way a few months ago and have to say you missed the best bit of Waterfall Way between Dorrigo and Armidale road. It’s brilliant. Smooth with long, undulating sweepers. A fantastic bit of bitumen. You got the best bit of Armidale road with that freshly surfaced stretch down the mountain. Lovely to relive some of my trip through your eyes. You missed a nice cafe under the bridge at Urunga. You can see its roof as you crossed it. You’ve motivated me to get back up there once this cold, miserable Winter is over.👍
Hi, Thanks for showing the parallel road out of Bellingen (N Bank Rd) to Raleigh. Didn’t know about it I usually ride straight out from Bellingen to the old highway. Cheers.
O I wish that someone had put up a 'Deisel Spill' sign all those years ago. High mountain pass and a heating oil spill put me into a mountain wall and hospital for seven weeks during my younger riding life. Great footage. (Fellow GS rider).
Been on a whole bunch of those roads over the years, you brought back some great memories. Fortunately for us, the weather was great in the vast majority. That said, we've done the Waterfall way between Dorigo and the coast like a dozen or so times with only on several of them it was really wet and slippery.
I must store those roads in the memory bank, they were amazing. On a side note, there is another youtube channel called "Brake Magazine" (English guy) and the guy recently did a review of the new F900 GS. But in the lead up to it, He talks about the previous versions and he states that the one he rates the highest is your model, the F800 GS. Looks like you picked a winner.
Enjoyed your vid and unique commentary Vern. Yes, it was a shame about the weather as those roads are fabulous in the dry. Hope there is an improvement in the weather for the remainder of the trip...
I was going to comment on your other video about the honey place in Urunga; but thought you might have been talking about somewhere else 😂 You've found some great roads up here. Lots of good memories watching this.
Thanks for the video. I'm heading up around that area at the end of July from Newcastle. Looks like they have improved the road from Grafton to Dorrigo.
Have had two occasions recently where road hazard signs , have been invaluable , one one the back highway between Grafton and Armidale , the other on Kunalga Rd , between Orana way and the pacific highway .
It was a lot of fun, watching this video, as I just did a motocamping trip starting from Toowoomba (where I live), down to Walcha, across the Oxley Highway to SW Rocks, and then back home to Toowoomba - there is a 4 part video series on my channel if you're interested. Was that the Seabreeze Hotel you stayed at? We camped out while in SW Rocks (in much nicer weather than you dealt with), but on a previous trip down to Sydney, I stayed overnight at the Seabreeze. Anyways, it was fun to watch someone doing a similar trip, close to the same time I did it, from a different perspective. Great video!
Mate, the rain this year in nthn nsw and qld is amazing - currently have friends stuck in Windora after a deluge in central qld! Love the route up and back - please tell me how I can get the route for myself please.
The route up I can't share because it's a tour, but the route back is detailed here with GPX file www.motorides.com.au/rides/gold-coast-to-sydney-sealed-mostly
Roadwork zones.... If there's no one working should be no reduction unless there actually is a significant hazard ie big hole in the road. My 2c worth.
I'm not a motorcycle rider but I had the same weather at Dorrigo last month. I went to a lookout just east of town (probably the same one you skipped) and could hardly see anything. 🫤
Welcome to sunny South West Rocks 💦💦🤣 Trust me, the sun does come our here, Vern 👍
At least it wasn't windy 😜
It is one of my favourite parts of the world, so stunning any other time.
I like that alternate road from Bello.
It was a nice find
Pity about all the rain you copped. That would be a nice ride on a nicer day.👍
Those rides are so much better in the dry.... Especially the views

Hahaha, the sacrifice I make for entertainment 😜🤣

Looks like some fun twisty roads were found! If only it was dry 😑
Yep, exactly! I'll just have to do it again next year 😜

I may have watched that video more than once 😜
It was worth it. Like your vids and the route you took.
That makes me very happy 😀
I swear that Diesel spill sign has been there for years. Also, would have been such a fun ride through all those twisty roads in the dry.

I'll just have to ride them again when it is dry. Does the weather get better? Yes and no 😜
@@MotoRidesAustralia Haha, I suspect no…

That valley on Tyringham Rd is beautiful .
I love a good magical mystery tour.....
