We recently bought the DVD box set of “family matters”, and Thelma is such a good actress, also we bought several other retro tv dvd box sets. Very enjoyable.
She and Joyce were established back-up singers when Tony Orlando hired them to be Dawn. When Isaac Hayes asked the question - "You know that man Shaft?" And then stated, "He's a bad mother -" it was Telma who said, "Shut yo mouth!"
I remember my very 1st song that I would request over and over again because it was so Beautiful to me, it was my very 1st song to represent love, not corny pop chart little kid puppy love crush stuff, (I WAS 9,in 1970 when it came out) BUT real emotional heart stirring stuff, wish I had a girl I could give the song to, back then and now,I still cry when I hear it, good tears,not sissy tears.thank you Tony,Joyce & Telma.
