I completely agree. I find myself wishing that I had requested some of these more candid, not perfect, “older” looking photos. But it wasn’t big at the time. They do have their own beauty in them 100%.

I always try to do this at events and then hold the pics for a while. These get better with time. Five, ten years later the imperfections are funny or special instead if "embarrassing." If people pass away they are quite special too. It's how we see and appreciate our loved ones, without curation.
