Jeff, was that nice catch a personal best? It's good to see how careful you guys are with releasing these Stripers. The Maryland DNR survey of reproduction in the Bay was a disaster this past year, a low point since the surveys started. Good cold water!
I’ve caught them up to 48. Yes, we are at a low point in terms of overall population numbers in the Chesapeake. You can find them in good concentrations (we really didn’t), but those groups are few and far between. Three years ago, I was dealing with bloody thumbs from racking up 60 plus fish a day. Jameson and I caught 8 total in 2.5 and 3.5 days respectively fishing for them.
@@TheLittleStuff Gotta wonder if the Bridge collapse clean up activity will impact Striper concentrations this year. Last year they were concentrated in the Patapsco, and held throughout the season. The charter captains have the advantage of radio networking to find the fish. As a kayak on the bay, you look for them. Advanced fish finder technology, a bit expensive, and a bit abstract for those who remember the days of bloody thumbs. Appreciate the videos you do on the Bay, good for those of us who put them back,,, for another day.
Some nice fish guys. Congrats on the tv show Jameson.
We have one more day on the water with Tom and one day in kayaks.
Looks incredible!
Monster!!
It was a nice one!

Oh, no no. If the banana is inside you it is still a banana on a boat and bad things can happen.
Disagree. Once it’s chewed up, it’s a Bolus, not a banana. 🍌
