That pastor embodies the true peace and serenity that he preaches. Yes, he has his human fears and needs, but he presses on. What an inspiration!! Thank you Tom for the human touch in your interaction with all these beautiful people…
Just to say. .. this is just my observation. .view if you will, Kenya was welcoming to all our neighbors. . and for a while especially during the presidency of Daniel Moi we were the African country welcoming and taking in the most refugees, and Kakmar refugee camp was one of the largest in the world. .. that was Wonderful! One of the countries who most benefited the most from this was Somalia. Historically, Kenya has its OWN somali tribe population. So does Ethiopia and Eritrea. But my point is, when there was some semblance of peace in Mogadishu, Somaliland and Puntland Somalia, a huge portion of the Somali refugees were not willing to leave Kenya to go to their country. I think you should get used to calling these your FELLOW COUNTRYMEN!

I just find it so god damn incredible to be able to sit in Germany and listen and WATCH!! first hand accounts and interviews from congolese refugees in Africa
Camps are a reasonable solution to temporary dislocation. Camps are stagnant places. But refugee crises can go on for decades. You keep people for 20 years idle, in camps don’t expect the next generation to be problem free.
Honestly, Tommy, probably my favorite vlog that you've posted, and I've watched quite a few of them now. Did some mission work in Mozambique and India some years ago, and this really brought me back. You aren't kidding about the people being very polite. Really, a simple, stress-free life like that, maybe not so bad. I could only encourage you to create more humanitarian content like this, and you know, try to keep the bread and candy hand-outs to a minimum, you damned criminal!
Most of us are incredibly blessed by comparison. Those refugees are so resilient. Their ability to endure hardship is both inspirational as well as humbling.
I love the respect you show to all people. You are a excellent representative of How people should treat each other. Some of the other channels feature arrogant, terrible people. Thank you so much.
The man answered to Tommy that his other kids are playing outside. Wow.....all those kids outside are his ? How powerful and productive he is. That's how he gave rise to population in the village,
we have a beautiful country which abounds in several natural resources but which was destroyed by our leaders and consequently the Congolese have become very poor, which is why they have no other choice but to seek a better life elsewhere . it hurts me a lot as a Congolese! 😭😭😭🇨🇩
I pray to God to give strength to the president and people of Uganda for accept so many refugees Uganda is a great country l am from Tanzania living in London

The family visited at 20:00 speaks Kinyarwanda language! Hope you can consider visiting Rwanda as well! I discovered your channel recently, and too much in love with your content! Actually your content meets my expectations
Finally someone who spotted it. Most of them were speaking Kinyarwanda when he was not asking them in Kiswahili, yet DRC government refuse to accept anyone who speaks it as a citizen. This happens in a lot of interviews made with people in refuge camps in DRC also.
nostalgia. I lived and worked in Menkao(a village near Kinshasa) 10 years ago, I miss my friends there. People suffered too much in RDC, hope the war will come to an end soon.
Shouldn't be too critical of the Ugandan Police. Not so long ago, they were protecting the the Tutsis from the Hutus, and now they are trying to ensure that that the current refuges are not set upon by whoever wants to destroy, rob, or somehow take advantage of them.
My mother was almost paranoid about making sure we had good drinking water. Even the tap water was boiled each morning, poured into a stone filter, cooled, then bottled and placed in the fridge, so important in Africa, store bottled water did not exist.
I feel like most people in the world are good people who just want to live happy lives. Its these corrupt leaders and greed thats causing so much destruction. Truly sad
I'm Congolese , so happy for what you doing for us and Uganda etc

More than that..
Uganda welcomes every one that's the fact
Kenya has the largest refugee camp in Africa

Your videos just get better. Those refugees were extremely humble with manners that have been lost in much of the west.

@@kat1669 it's necessary because it gains you nothing to put down your original land for another man's satisfactory as if you lose a Ean if you speak truth🙄🙄dies Mbale look like this... Stop being ignorant
@@kat1669 my Dia l grew up in kawempe and am not rich but your ignorance is not allowing you to be corrected, you said this is "Africa" point of correction Africa is a continent with 56 different countries not asmall country you categorised all together, and another one the people being filmed are Congolese not Ugandans, the fact that the government doesn't offer them jobs because they are refugees that shows that they don't even represent the country where l would tell you this is Uganda, yes we are all Africans and free to stay anywhere but in this case, this video is not about the poor living conditions of either Ugandans or Africans as you want to shade it, but rather about the poor living conditions of refugees in that camp in particular and the sufferings they go through, argue to learn not to act like you wanna be celebrated of being cheap cheap like Chicago, Texas and Ohio states look clean🙄🙄🙄🙄, l hear this is Africa, so how about Angola, Lesotho, and Morocco where government pays for people's bridal prices and full education till university yet these are African countries too🥺🥺🥺stop being ignorant like most Americans and act like a person raised in Uganda, one negative thing doesn't represent the whole of Africa just like my culture cannot represent your culture that's why you are Nandere and am Sanyu, we would both be Nandere or Sanyu.... Reason up
@@kat1669 still you didn't have to catergorise as"tge true face of Africa"🙄🙄🙄🙄l mean Africa is about culture, beauty among others like other continents... Your mouth sold you
@@kat1669 She didn’t claim to be rich. Her point were this is not the whole image of Africa which is true. Are you happy with the whole world portraying the whole africa with this image? This is why we face discrimination abroad. They think we are not intelligent and have nothing to offer because we come from these conditions. Open your eyes

The one good thing is that I can hear English, French + Swahili. So am.practising by listening
nostalgia. I lived and worked in Menkao(a village near Kinshasa) 10 years ago, I miss my friends there. People suffered too much in RDC, hope the war will come to an end soon.
The way you let that local tell the problems in his own words is very rare and hard to find vids like this
This shits priceless bro
It's sad situation seeing this, but I am so proud of your Swahili and how you connect to their emotions, Asante kwa hii video.

im always waiting for your next vlog finally new one.subscribers from.philippines❤
Shouldn't be too critical of the Ugandan Police. Not so long ago, they were protecting the the Tutsis from the Hutus, and now they are trying to ensure that that the current refuges are not set upon by whoever wants to destroy, rob, or somehow take advantage of them.
I wish you can go to parts of Mbarara, Kabale , etc
Plus your vlogs are the best so far
You are amazing. if you can travels all over in Africa. And Communication with another people With Swahili's 👋Welldone👍

My mother was almost paranoid about making sure we had good drinking water. Even the tap water was boiled each morning, poured into a stone filter, cooled, then bottled and placed in the fridge, so important in Africa, store bottled water did not exist.
Listen to josey lesson learned she knows all😂🌴🤭✌
This channel is growing fast.. Fw months agi it had just 9k subs
Wish I could rescue and sponsor these families. Wars and tribal conflicts are so bad why can't we all just get along.
I feel like most people in the world are good people who just want to live happy lives. Its these corrupt leaders and greed thats causing so much destruction. Truly sad
@@Abigal98 iagre 100% with you mate
