A broken brake booster hose will also cause this code and limp mode. Part of the hose is hard plastic and is susceptible to cracking and/or breaking. Ask me how I know.

How did you get the new green seal on the intercooler the one that's on it is black and they're two different seals I tried for an hour and a half to slide the pipe on with the new green o-ring and was getting nowhere
@@justenfarnsworth625 Car is still on the road! We do oil changes on it regularly. Maybe next time its in we'll take it apart and look. Thanks for commenting.
Sorry, the main focus of this channel is diagnosis. Not much time to make how-to's for each part that might be replaced. But if you make a video on how to do it I'll link to it.
It's not too hard get pipe off. Pull off air filter box, battery box. Then front lower intercooler rubber hose held on with snap clamps under car near radiator. Then there's 2 bolts on plasic pipe intercooler pipe. Then need pull off back mass air flow pipe , near the top turbo is a hidden bolt on a hose clamp. Then there's coolant lines to the engine and intercooler. Pinch those off with hose clamps or stuff clean rags so don't loose too much. Then go under car to back engine will see the back hose clamp on intercooler pipe.watch how the spring clamps go on and off. Thats what got me when reattaching to make sure the snap clamps lock back in the little ridges so pipe doesn't pop off. Then you have to do tetris to move the pipe out all the different things. Took about an hour get off. Take pictures as you go, and have a buckets or bags of where different bolts , screws go. If need refill coolant use distilled water if don't have the right coolant. Don not mix coolant types can make salts in the coolant system clogging it. You'll need t27 and think t25 bits for specialty screws.
I don’t like those clip fitting boost pipes, better with a normal hose and clamp but VAG persist in using them. At the end why does boost run above requested at first, because of the tune? Keep up the great work 👍👌
Lots of vehicles the boost will overshoot then come under control. Some people run a aftermarket valve to "clip" the overboost off. Mostly on performance cars though.
i have a 2006 VW jetta Tdi and we have the code p0299 come up. low power and tons of black smoke when driving. we have replaced the intercooler pipe once about two years ago. I took it to a friend who put it up on a lift and when he reved it looking for leaks he saw massive ammount of black smoke coming off the EGR cooler valve. he reccomended replacing the EGR cooler. would that cause the p0299 code? i would just love to bring it to your shop if you were in Utah. Do you know of any shops here in Utah that you would reccomend? your youtube is by far the best i have found for Vw tdi
Hello there, great video. My 06 has no noticeable leaks, Actuator works it holds pressure, n75 working, when I go to the Measuring block and do a test, the boost pressure reading is normal same with the boost actual, the Charge Pressure drops instantly from 98% to 20% I have no visible engine lights but I do have a underboost code which makes my car not move for a good 2 seconds and blows allot of smoke and suddenly turbo finally kicks in and car goes. My fix for this was a zip tie mod... but car often goes to limp when I go uphill on cold engine. ( please do help) if I take the zip tie it will choke again...
@@35dizzzel Seems the same info that you found to lead you to zip tie it would show you how to adjust it. Basically you just want the stop to prevent the vanes from going full closed. It tends to stick in the full closed position due to wear and lever angle. I've fixed dozens. most of which someone (dealer and other shops)had allready recommended replacing the turbo.
Initial diagnosis had zero boost and smoke. Zero boost plus massive smoke equals major boost leak. Output test shows quickly whether n75 works or not. I never did a output test on this car but I've shown it in some other videos and it would be the same on this car.

sometimes service centers drill a small hole in the lower intercooler plastic pipe to drain oil build up in the pipe.
