    Ingredients:
    1 ¾ cup all purpose flour
    ½ tsp baking powder
    ¼ tsp baking soda
    ¼ tsp salt
    10 tbsp unsalted butter
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1 egg
    2 tsp vanilla extract
    ⅓ cup sour cream
    Icing:
    2 cups confectioners’ sugar
    2 tbsp water (plus more as needed)
    1 tbsp light corn syrup
    ½ tsp vanilla extract
    3 tbsp cocoa powder
    Process:
    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
    2. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt then set if off to the side.
    3. In your electric mixer, with a paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix on high speed until combined.
    4. Add the dry ingredients in 3 additions, alternating with the sour cream. Beat everything on low until combined, there are no pockets of flour remaining and the batter is extremely thick.
    5. Scoop the batter onto a baking sheet and bake them in the oven for 16-18 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely while you make the icing.
    6. To make the icing, combine the powdered sugar, water, corn syrup, and vanilla in a large bowl then mix until smooth. If the icing is too thick you can add some more milk until it becomes a thinner, spreadable icing.
    7. Using a small offset spatula, cover half of each cookie in a thin layer of the vanilla icing. Create a neat line along the middle, then use the sharp edge to gently draw the icing from the center to the edge. Allow the icing to set then cover the other side with the chocolate icing.
    8. To make the chocolate icing, add the cocoa powder and some extra water if needed and has a consistency similar to the vanilla icing. Spread the chocolate icing from the center to the edge of the cookie and allow the icing to set.
