Interesting fabric, how can I make a 100% waterproof bag or tote using this fabric and technique which I'll fill up about 2 gallons of water and no leaks should occur? I would like to buy this as a fabric and not for the boat. This TPU nylon fabric is impossible to buy from USA.
Making a waterproof bag is easy - just iron two pieces of fabric together around the edges - but you’ll need to find a valve or port that won’t leak. There are some press- fit valves available on the DIY Packraft website that might suit your needs.
@@duckacid ive got a couple things, tricot nylon backing by the metre and also some adhesive nylon fabric tape, just need a good tool to apply it, so far best option ive used was an industrial iron, i purchased a hot plate thing like this and it just melted everything
Not necessarily... I’ve only tried two of them, so no guarantees. And if you live someplace where the electricity is 220 V, then definitely not. Max would be a good place to start in North America though.
I have been looking at fabrics from elsewhere as you are out of stock. Could you please explain the difference between Nylon 6 and Nylon 66 fabric?
What type of fabrics is this by name?

Hi.
Question. I'm wondering when I might be able to buy the UL boat?
Thank you.
I’m trying to source fabric now and I hope it will be available in the new year.
@@DIYPackraft Ok, no problem. Time is on my side. Have a nice day. :)
yo! this is very cool, do you think that this tool would be good for DIY outdoor clothing construction? trying to get a setup for my workshop
Yeah, but only if you’re using heat sealable fabrics - otherwise it won’t do anything except melt things.
@@DIYPackraft so you think that even if i just use it to apply seam sealing tape to synthetic fabrics it wont work?
Ah, yeah that might work - I’m not sure.
@@LocalMane You need Sewfree iron-on adhesive film.

You're saying this model of the iron can't get too hot - so one could just ramp it to max and be good?
