- A new era for musical credos has set more elevated standards. Versatility, empowerment, limitless options, and ever-demanding tools at the disposal of every musician and composer are today on demand. A call for inventive devices continues to make musicians more inspired, clever, and connected.
We took our Alpha Omega, and with relentless efforts added all the learned engineering to it. Placing the iconic distortion circuit into a new paradigm that enables a range of possibilities that were never before available.
A comprehensive design that allows programming each part of the pedal, from compression, distortion, and cabinet simulation in the signal chain to presets via MIDI and the Darkglass Suite.
The Alpha Omega now has its ultimate interface. Fully programmable, empowered, and never before this versatile.

As someone who bought the Adam pedal last year, is it possible to update the pedal to run that character switch as the alpha Omega knob instead and use it that way instead of me having to consider selling my Adam for this product? Since it's all still a digital enclosure? I love the Adam but I honestly think I'd prefer this over it as I like alpha Omega sound and always wanted to be able to save the presets for it.
Right there with you bud.
This ad is both awesome and hilarious
Good lord this is well done. Good job!
Just pre ordered!
🔥🤘💀🤘🔥
Is the signal path still all analogue? Including the compressor?
That sure sounds like a dingwall to me
Sounds like a Dargklass pedal to me.
Yeah you don't get that tone from anything other than a Dingwall
@@Sporacle I get DG tones from a Spector Legend with stock EMG pups and preamp, and I have a 6 string combustion 3 with DG preamp to compare it with.
@@sqlb3rn I agree, my spector legend can sound pretty close to my ng2 in a distorted setting after tonnes of tweaking. But yes, this demo sounds like a dingwall
please give us jon stockman's demo
Been waiting to see this now I'm kinda happy I had not got a alpha omicron/omega I need this in my life
well my x ultra stopped working for the second time, so its either another x ultra or this. but i have the alpha omicron already so im confused as to what i actually need ^^
I'm sorry but these pedals are 350+ and they have stopped working on you twice yet you still go back to buy a third?
@@seanhickey1999 if there was an alternative to the x pedals id go for it
@@Maxischupp93 depends on what you mean by alternatives, what functions will you be using this pedal for? I assume you want a pedal containing eq, dirt, and a xlr out that can make heavy metal tones. A pedal that comes to mind for me which is expensive but will last you a lifetime is dug pinniks tech 21 pedal. It has a tuner, compressor, eq, dirt, and xlr out. It is 300 but very much worth it for what you are getting. Mxr also makes a decent di if you really would like to save money but you won't get compression or tuner and the dirt doesn't sound as nice but what do you expect for 1/3 of the price of dg/tech 21.
@@seanhickey1999 i especially need the eq split into clean lows and dirt highs. The x ultra still works in clean mode, so atm i run my a/o into the clean x ultra for eq, compression and cab sim xlr
@@Maxischupp93 you can use a Tyler Splitter pedal and build the hi/lo signals however you want. EQ and compressor in the lo path, your Alpha Omicron in the high path. GearGods did a bass pedalboard build with the Splitter and Alpha Omega that explains it.
Every single bass OD pedal sounds like SHIT after you try a Darkglass.
Cya regular alpha omega
So the A/O in ADAM format.
Swag *dabs
Okay.. always was fan of the Alpha Omega, liked the Idea of the Adam... soo this seems to be perfect for me :-o
Is it just me who thinks the bass used in the audio sounds suspiciously like a Dingwall?
Thought the same thing. They didn't look kvlt enough for the video I suppose.
It's absolutely a Dingwall in Nolly mode (bridge and middle in series), played with a pick.
Just people that don't know how to dial in a tone, I could give you my Dingwall Combustion 3 with DG preamp and you still probably couldn't get this tone.
@@samuelviden7412 which Dingwalls have you played?
@@sqlb3rn I've owned an Afterburner HS 5-string ("Heavy Solid", solid Bubinga body and Wenge neck) with the 3X FD3 pickup setup with series/parallel switches for each pickups, as well as two different Super P basses, a five and a four.
Ok, I'll be waiting for the demos and reviews. And also, I really hope this ad was actually recorded with that Ibanez bass 😬
don't need a Dingwall to get those tones, just need pickups with some good hi mids.
Definitely a Dingwall in "Nolly mode" (bridge+middle in series), also clearly played with a pick.
The bass makes no difference to your tone.
@UC1PrC8TmuTAFVtGspVSn45g Personally I've owned three. Fantastic basses, but in the end not the tone I was looking for. The pickups are very linear and thus work great for heavily distorted tones, but I play mostly clean with a bit of dirt, and I found I couldn't push the pickups the way I wanted.
@@samuelviden7412 No fanned frets. Definitely not a Dingwall.
Unpopular opinion/question - as a Darkglass owner and customer (B7K Ultra v2,with which I am exceptionally pleased),I really cannot comprehend why are players, companies and producers going over that oversaturated ultra distorted bass sound in the recent times. It cuts through the mix and suffocates all around it,it has no beef/low end and it sounds like someone is scraping sandpaper over a coiled fence. ADAM,that Stingray bass and some other products sound...bad,at least to me. Where did the days of gnarly and chunky (but audible, coherent and pleasant) tones go?
EDIT: The craftsmanship and quality of products are second to none,I am just concerned about the hypetrain of the nature of the sound.
You say it cuts through the mix and you are right in some cases. But in groups like Architects, Polyphia or Unprocessed for example, it fits so damn perfectly. Furthermore, this sound of bass became, in my opinion, the archetype of the sound of a bass guitar in modern metal. Companies are going over this trend because it became a trend.
@@yazouu85 My point exactly, but WHY did it becone a trend, what did I miss? Everyone now sounds the same (pejoratively speaking) and it's like a distorted guitar tuned an octave lower than the actual guitars in the band. I'm trying to understand why are people biased towards that type of sound,no results so far 🤣
@@6sentient its very simple man, bass players are tired of not hearing themselves in the mix or in band practice, darkglass is the first innovation in bass gear since the Sansamp came out in the early 90s. That said... not all darkglass sounds like this. I've been using mine for gritty saturation and EQ with plenty of low end
@@ileutur6863 Fair point, but ,,natural" way to enhance the bass presence is by not cutting out the mids, which many players do,thinking the lows will give the beef and the highs will give the clonk, which of course is a misconception. Most common mistake by bassists is being illiterate production/recording-wise,where they just leave it to the producer who does things in accordance to his skills - IMO,the ,,not being heard" issue can be fixed with a bit of general schooling and not with pedals that make you sound like a malfunctioning chainsaw...
@@6sentient considering Nolly is a producer/mixing/mastering engineer himself, I trust him to come up with a good solution to the “cutting through the mix problem” . As to why this sort of tone is so popular, it’s simple. Most metal bassists like it. You don’t like it. That’s fine too. Art and music, and by extension, tone, are extremely subjective. Some people don’t even like bass distortion at all. There isn’t some complicated reason why people like it, they just do. I don’t know why I like onions, but I do, and there’s no need to be angry towards people who don’t like onions.
Cool, but i think the X Ultra Is Always the best...low compress and High distorted..Simply perfect.
This does the same thing
I use a Tyler Splitter and build the lo/hi signal chains separately, so it doesn't matter.
@@Bmm1620 nope, this has a blend like the A/O original so you mix the Di signal with the distortion of pedale..X Ultra Is a direct distortion but you can separate Low and High... it's totally different and the sound of X Ultra Is more "RAW" and aggressive for my taste..
I Own It,After i try the Vintage,B7K and Alpha/Omega all ultra versions..X Ultra Is the best.
@@sqlb3rn i saw It,but i already Taken the X Ultra...the Tyler was my 2nd choice,another Amazing pedal.
You should try out the A·OΦ fifth distortion mode then!
Sold my Alpha Omega, to get the ADAM. And then they release this. God damn
You know what this will sound like before pressing play.
I’m glad you guys are doing more with that physical format. Looking forward to hopefully a vintage vibe one!
Yep... was thinking just this. I currently use a VMTU, and the ability to change cab sims and gain levels via MIDI would be a mandatory upgrade.
This gives me a chubby
Canchatamaraaaa weonaaaaa
While i May not really enjoy this particular Sound, i applaud the options you provide. I fail to See any Real harm done except to a Fans wallet xD
Is that Steve DiGiorgio?
OMG!!!
No one commenting on how insane this promo video is haha
Очень круто звучит,педаль мечты , Фотон 👍👍👍
Nice, when will it be availabe?
Gracias Douglass por esta nueva bendición 🇨🇱
Would be nice to have this tone standard as a preset.😁
This video made me want to buy the pedal instantly.
Can't wait to get it!
Cha cha chaaaaaaaaan
Sounds like a James Bond score
🤤🤤🤤
you didn't even get a notification, youtube just loaded this for you automatically, right?
Wow dats a drive.
What an awesome commercial video ... KILLER! I just got the microtube 500v2, love It!
What difference to the ADAM is it?
Well obviously it has different distortion sounds. But functionality wise it's probably exactly the same as the Adam
@@craigsi16 It doesn't have multiband compressor
no compressor on the clean side and different color duh 🤷♂
Digital distortion? With presets? MIDI? Compatible with QC?
Ibanez ????
I think its overpriced, since AOU already have most of the job done
I hope the sound test demo will subvert my expectation
Te entiendo tanto, man, jajaja.
Why so thin sounding and tinny it don't sound good
Will this pedal essentially have the same specs as the ADAM pedal?
Who is the lady that's playing?
Still love my b7k and Alpha omega pedal🤘
Very ofensive LOL I want !
ФСЕМ ФОТОН ПАЦАНЫ
Uh, Alpha Omega Photon? Phioton? I have so many questions

Damn, 🥪
Aye! Lovely
great!!!
Sounds just like every other DG pedal, clanky. The AO series were always a bit different, not anymore. Glad I sold all my DG stuff off.
I love darkglass so much but damn if their pedals aren't ludicrously expensive (comes with the quality I suppose). Always wanted a bog standard b7k :')
