- Hey everyone!! Another dental school vlog here :) In this video you'll get to see a good chunk of what I did in this couple weeks of dental school! First is us learning how to take impressions with a demo from one of our favorite instructors, then a bit of our pre-clinical competency for fillings, and our temporomandibular joint disorder lab!
Also check out spotlightoralc... to see the products I showed at the end!
xoxo

If only our teachers were as patient and calm when they taught us. It's nice to see that it isn't a negative environment everywhere .
That is why we want to do DDS after BDS

Hahaha what are the odds! The upper impression is so uncomfortable right (when being the patient lol)?!?!
I'm in high-school and your videos motivate me everyday to get into dental school. Hoping to be an orthodontist 😁
You are so stunningly pretty 😍😍
Love these!
Are dentist's really rich in USA? ( just trying to know )
Do students get left behind in practice?
Do you get a lot of free time?
Do you face difficulties while learning topics?
Please answer
I love your videos.❤
Hi!! I’ll do my best to answer your questions :)
Dentists in the US typically have well above average salaries compared to national averages, though this can be different from state to state.
I think being a dental student requires a lot of work and dedication, as one would expect. I dont feel like I have a lot of free time right now, but enough to stay happy and healthy while in school. But then after school it might depend on how fast you want to pay your student loans. So some people work really hard, even 5 or 6 days a week for many years to pay them off, and then as the career goes on take more time off. This is what I have observed, but its really different for each person.
As for learning new topics there are definitely some that are more challenging than others. I think in my school i feel like if we have challenges, our faculty really want us to succeed so we would then get extra chances and attention to improve in certain areas.
I hope this helps!!
@@jasmineahrar Thank you
What are your thoughts on being a psychologist? Loved your vid
Ps what can I do for jaw grinding
I think that is such a cool, needed, and rewarding career! Good luck! For grinding you should really ask your dentist because there could be different reasons that you are grinding. Any dentist would say that they would need to give you an exam to give you the best advice for your situation. One thing I can recommend that may help in the mean time is to focus on relaxing your jaw and through the day make sure that when your mouth is at rest you keep the teeth a little bit apart so they are not constantly being clenched. That’s something that helps my jaw muscles not be too sore. I hope this helps 🙏
How did you extended Plastic Tray for a patient who had bigger or smaller arch in comparison to the tray? Here In India * we are told to do it with the help of red modelling wax.
Great question! We have 3 sizes of trays which is great (small, medium, large). We find the tray that best fits the patient but from there we can make the tray a little bit wider if needed, by heating the plastic so that it softens a bit and manipulating it to be wider. Modeling wax can be used as well if needed!
Omg this is so exciting to watch🤍
I take the DAT January 2024 + dental school applications! What do you recommend to make you stand out in a pool of applicants? How did you study for your DAT? I personally have worked pediatrics, general, orthodontics and administration at a dental office as a DA in the last two years and I love everything about dental!😊 SO excited to follow you on your journey!🤍
Maamm seriously you looks like so sweet and pretty🌺❤
Hey I’m 15 and I think I want to become a dentist or orthodontist, and I know it’s a little early but I’m sort of confused with the application. Do I have to enter a different college for 4 years THEN go to a dental school or would I just get accepted to a dental school right away?
You would need to go to college first to take the pre-requisite classes (like biology, chemistry, physics), then apply to dental schools. After college (usually 4 years) and the dental school application, you then go to dental school for 4 years.
Hello,my teeth has white invisible vertical lines.how can I get rid of that?Is that permanent?please respond🙏
Please respond...what do you think about using a short needle for inferior alveolar nerve block, my boss prefers it that way but I'm not very comfortable with it....I need some advice
Hi there! Thats a great question. In school we are taught to use the long needle because the IA injection requires the site of deposition to be at the mandibular foramen, which can be quite deep. The main reason is so that the hub of the needle doesn’t become submerged in the tissue because this is the most common site for the needle to break. That being said, there may be no long needle available in which case you would use a short needle if that is available. Also consider, if your boss has been doing this for many years and is comfortable with the short needle maybe it is just what works best for them and they are fully aware of the risk and benefits of using a short needle. I hope this helps!
@@jasmineahrar thank you so much for the reply...yes but I prefer sticking to long because I know I won't be worried about it being submerged however....how do I present this to my boss, how do I convince them to purchase long needles for me , I have asked them about it and they have told me to try using a short since patients feel less pain with the short....so just asking for advice on how to bring up my concerns
What year are in right now?
Just graduated and starting working in the real world!!
What if your dentist or orthodontist and like to work for the federal government?
That is an awesome option!! They even will pay a good chunk of your student loans
What happens when you fail an exam?
Each program is different but at our school you would just re-take it. There is a limit on how many re-takes though, so if you have to re-take the same exam too many times you might have to take the course over again.
As smooth as baby behind?
