I am here because my nephew shot himself in front of his parents. He was despondent over losing his 15 yr old son from disease. Also diagnosed bipolar last year. He tried to get better. It was too much. I prayed for months for his salvation. Shared who Jesus is . All I can do now is wait till I get there to see if he made it. Check on your family, people . Are they alright? That's a horrible idea. Where does this idea come from? Hell was not even a Jewish concept originally. And then it keeps changing. First it was fire in a real body, then a soul in fire, then separation. What does this mean? Jesus said he came to the world to save everyone. He said in the end he will draw everyone to him. Will he fail? Will sin prevail?

Everyone? Do you mean really everyone? - including those who don't believe? Including those who have done real harm, committed horrible crimes? If Jesus saves everyone, then there will be no need for hell, because no-one would go there. Presumably in such a case, there would be ways of enablying those who have done wrong to rehabilitate somehow. How much better and more refreshing would be a view of Jesus that includes everyone, rather than the more usual one where many people, perhaps the majority of humanity, are condemned to the most awful fate imaginable.
I hope you are right, because the idea of anyone being tormented in hell for ever is simply intolerable, and any religion that believes God would do this has an intolerable view of God, and would be an intolerable religion for me - for I could not feel easy about the idea of God doing this, even if I were safe myself.
I agree with you that it is a horrible idea. And I must say that I find this pastor rather unpleasant, the way he is mocking, almost gloating over, those unfortunate enough (in his opinion) to be condemned to hell.

support for that. Chris Date and others explain it. These groups were popular with the early church, very popluar, but the current fear based one is easier to control people.
“Christ will be all in all” the Bible says. All in all. Beatiful, right. Universalists point that out. Annihilationists dont believe all will be saved but those not saved are destroyed not tortured. The wages of sin is death. This is more like the older tradition Jewish view. There is an another view held by many Christians. In the Bible it says "fear the one who can destroy both body and soul" and then talks about a second death in the lake of fire so I think it is quite clear that after the white thrown of judgement at the end of mankind's time on earth there will be death of the souls apart from those who put their faith in the forgiveness of God through Jesus Christ which are the only ones to have "everlasting life". There are two places that are called hell: the place of the dead which is current, where people go that don't faith and the lake of fire. I'm still learning about it myself. I personally think that western Christianity is washed out. Still true in ways but takes very different angles and approaches compared to the original Christians. Orthodox Christianity of the Middle East is nothing like
western christianity that has been hijacked for profit and like everything else has become just another corporate money machine of capitalism (although I'm not against it). The US can be crazy though.

So if people who end up in hell remain there forever, that shows they never repent, because if they did then they would transition from hell to heaven, because repentance leads to salvation. People in hell are trapped there in their own hatred and regret. They are too absorbed in it to even think about repentance. Just like how all evil and pain will forever be forgotten by the saints, repentance will probably be forgotten by those in hell. The most they can probably do is regret, but regret ≠ repent.

Out of thankfulness and respect to him we build a relationship to him and do good works for others in love for the love he shows us all. Building a true relationship with Christ and taking care of one another is all that matters and the works have to be supported with faith.

Early Christians: "Hades" is the Koine Greek word for what the Hebrews call "Sheol" Both words mean "the grave.", or "the death state." "Tartarus" is a dank, gloomy cave deep in the earth where sinning angels are kept until they are judged. "Gehenna" is a valley in Jerusalem where the Israelites burned their children in sacrifice to Baal - something God did NOT command, NOR DID IT ENTER HIS MIND. The land was so detestable to Yahweh, he cursed the ground and it became a garbage dump. None of these words describe a place of endless punishment.
Rome: ...NAH. Let's borrow the theory of "eternal torment" from the Babylonian and Egyptian pagans. Then we'll translate all four words as "Infirnum", Later, English translators will change the word "infirnum" to "Hell". The thought of eternal suffering has the added bonus of keeping the Roman citizens in line. Besides, we wouldn't want them to realize their freedom in Christ would we?

    You must understand this:
Our sin, *your* sin, is treason against God. Our sentence, our wages, is the *death* penalty. Hell is our infinite debt that can *never* be fully paid. This is justice.
But, Jesus took our debt. The judge has pardoned us. We do not have to pay for our sin, because it was paid for on the cross. But why? Why would an infinitely holy God die for us disgusting, filthy humans?
Jesus *loves* us. He loves *you* enough to vindicate you from sin. And he has a higher calling and purpose for you.
Many people trip over the mere simplicity of this freedom. They don’t begin to grasp just how unworthy we are of it. Do not misunderstand it, because tomorrow may be too late.

It is not a simple matter of choice like you say. There is one little problem which gets in the way - well, it's a huge problem for those affected by it - and that is the question of belief. People who do not believe in Christ, or in God at all, do not choose not to believe, and they cannot change this by an act of will. You would say they are choosing to reject Jesus, but I would assert that, in most cases, this is not true. They are not choosing anything at all, and cannot help the fact of their unbelief. If you want to continue to assert that it is a matter of choice, I would then ask you to tell me just how they can make themselves believe in something that they just don't believe in. No-one has yet been able to give me a satisfactory answer to this.
Accordingly, this would make it grossly unfair for God to judge and punish those who were not able to believe - some of whom might have tried with all their effort to believe, but just couldn't do it.

The Unforgivable sin is to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, and those who do so know full well that they are bearing false witness against the Holy Spirit and those who do so are unapologetic about it, The fact that you are willing to repent and turn towards God shows that you have not truly done so. There does not need to be any spiritual signs to show you that you are forgiven as the sacrifice for sins has already been accomplished by Jesus on the Cross, all you need to do is abide in Christ.

Like @j.c.v said, you haven't committed the Unpardonable Sin. If you had, you wouldn't be seeking forgiveness for it. Your repentant heart shows that you are not too far gone. Don't talk about all *you* can do, talk about all that *Christ* has done *for* you, because that's what's really important.

@@mrcolmiyo I literally had thoughts of calling Jesus the devil's name and I let those thoughts go through and persist when I found out what the Unforgivable Sin was. Those were wrong and evil thoughts, and I neither believe them or meant them in any way. I should have heeded the Holy Spirit and His warning against looking at what it was and then I would have avoided those thoughts. Now I no longer feel any happiness or God's presence, for I believe that I got stripped from it.
Hebrews 6:4-6: "For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt." @@diotitus I understand your worries. I have also dealt with evil thoughts in my life, ranging from the sexual to the violent to the blasphemous. Since I am the only person on this earth who knows my own heart, I could rightly say that I am the chief of sinners. Even so, I have been saved by Christ, and I know my own eternal destination. Think about other sinners who have been saved by grace. How about the Apostle Paul? He used to kill Christians, but then he became one of the most influential Christians to ever live. The Native Americans who killed Jim Elliot and the four other missionaries several decades back have since converted, and the one who killed Elliot is now a pastor. Even the serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer became a Christian at the end of his life. If my sins and theirs aren't too great for Christ to handle, then neither are yours. You're not a goner.
I noticed that you mentioned your feelings, how you no longer feel God's presence or any happiness at all. I just want to remind you that your feelings are deceitful. We've all had feelings which have misled us before. Our feelings are easily manipulated and easily duped. They cannot be trusted. Therefore, your subjective experience of the feeling of God's presence or the joy which comes from that has no bearing on whether He actually is with you or not. *Don't use your feelings to determine your salvation.*
I can see how the verse you've cited can make it seem like you have no hope. However, this verse doesn't apply to your situation at all. It's talking about people who have heard the Gospel, maybe had an experience with Jesus, but then turned away and reveled in their sin, rejecting the Gospel completely. In effect, the phrase "crucifying Him once again" paints a picture of said apostates joining the crowd to jeer at the crucified Lord.
Everything about the condition of your heart that I've been able to glean from your comments on this video show that you have not done that. Your heart is not hardened. There is still hope for you. I've said this once before and I'll say it again: *You're not a goner.* Repent from your sins, and you will be saved.
      ~A brother in Christ.

I think the important question here, is what do you believe the gospel of salvation is and why do you ask for signs or messages?
Why do you say: "live the rest of my life the best that I can"?
I am curious what doctrinal message you believe and how much of the Bible you have read (and what Bible you read)

People... are they really wicked? Leaving aside obvious criminals, dictators, and such, the "sins" people commit are mostly fairly minor, and yet, to offset that, those same people, including ordinary, everyday people, are capable of great kindness, love, and sacrifice. But evidently they are still wicked.
But God... he only tortures people in hell for ever, with no second chance, including aforementioned loving, kind people... yes, that makes God good. Sure.

Number 3 is technically incorrect. There are no good people in hell, it's a place of pure justice. No one gets a raw deal in their destination in eternity. Everyone will be placed exactly where they wanted to be during their lives, even if they didn't consciously know it themselves at the time.
EDIT: it'd be more accurate to say there's culturally moral people in hell. But no one is good but God.

I believe in God, I accept him as almighty and eternal being and embodiment of good. I think about angels as his heralds, but at this point after I saw this video I gotta ask: Are there anyone in Heaven who is not an angel and not God himself? High standard is a good thing but this high? I especially loved the part "many good people ends up in hell because they are still not perfectly good" or some like this. Is it really possible to end up in Heaven at this point? For example: A guy who save 10 life daily gets a bit tired by friday night and the next day he goes to a bar with a friend or with a nice girl because why not and they accidentally drink too much and do silly things. That ruins the perfect streak so they end up in hell? Can someone help me to understand the logic? To be a cockroach through a lifetime is hell worthy in my eyes, but what is hell worthy in my exemple which I wrote above?

Basically we aren’t perfect and since God is perfect and holy we don’t deserve to go to heaven since we are sinful but that’s why God sent his son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, Jesus paid the price and took our punishment so all we have to do is repent, truly believe in and accept Jesus Christ as our savior and we’ll be saved and go to heaven. We still sin sometimes since we are only human but by repenting you always ask for forgiveness when you sin, trying to be more and more like how God wants us to be

    • @mrcolmiyo
      @mrcolmiyo Місяць тому

It is my belief that the suffering endured in Hell is proportionate to how evil the person actually was. In your example of the morally perfect man who only messed up once, he likely wouldn't suffer nearly as much relative to the other inhabitants of Erebos. It's like human justice systems: a petty criminal might get off with a month or two in prison, community service, or a fine. Meanwhile, a serial killer will be sentenced to life in prison or death. It would be unjust to give a petty criminal the death penalty, just as it would be unjust to give the serial killer a fine instead of incarcerating/executing him. God is perfectly just, so what happens to a person in Hell will be perfectly equivalent to their moral character and actions during life.
Furthermore, that moral man would go to Hell. God's moral Law is not a set of disconnected rules and regulations. Instead, if you break one law, you break them all. Therefore, if I steal, it as counted as though I had broken every law in the book. God's moral Law is also positive, as well as negative; it is a set of "do's" as well as a set of "don't's." For example, we are commanded to love our neighbors. If I do not love my neighbor perfectly, 100% of the time, I have broken God's moral Law. At this point, you should start to see a problem which you've already expressed in your comment: is it really possible to end up in Heaven at this point?
You've hit upon a fundamental problem with humanity: we *cannot* be perfect. God's Law is synonymous with His character. Anyone who breaks God's moral Law has made himself unable to commune with God, depriving himself of the fundamental reason for his existence and the only thing which will fulfill him. That's why we desperately need Christ. He lived the perfect life we could never live and by believing in Him for our salvation, His righteousness is given to us, so that when God looks at our moral records, He sees all the good Jesus did, not all the sins we've committed. Because of this, there's nobody who's too far gone for Christ to save. Likewise, there's no one to good to need Christ. We're all in this boat together, and the boat's sinking. We need an escape route, but there's only one: Jesus Christ.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
